Problem: Soft Bricked Laptop, Lenovo LOQ 15(Geekpro G5000) 7840H, 4060
Background: After adjusting the Advanced BIOS options (Fn+R+N) and accidentally changing settings about RAM & Graphics, pressed F10 (Save & Exit), then Blank(Blank) screen, led power lights on - soft bricked occured.
Goal:To reset the BIOS Chip/s to be able to boot back to the machine
Attempted:
I tried to dump and reflash a BIOS file with CH431A clip on:
Results: Chip not detected
I also tried to do the BIOS Crisis recovery method (Fn+R on startup), but the laptop seem not to read the bios file (7zip: extracted ILG50039.ROM file from LYCN39WW.exe). The charging light turns amber and led power lights turn off, then simply restarts back to blank screen.
Regarding the Crisis recovery, I am not sure if I got the correct file and renamed it properly. I read on other forums that this method will not work if the file is not renamed correctly. I tried to rename the ILG50039.ROM file to "LYCrisis.bin", "LYCN.bin", "ILG50039.ROM", "ILG50039.bin" but nothing changed.
I also tried to use "ISpillMyDrink/UEFITool" to extract further the "ILG50039.ROM" file and renamed it to the above file names to no avail.
Are the any programmers or softwares that can detect the above BIOS chips?
Also, are there any other ways to flash/reset the bios to revive the laptop?
I hope that you can give me any advice moving forward on other things I can do to try to revive this bricked laptop? Thank you.
