Hi, I have been struggling to follow instructions to fix my BIOS through the guides here and hoped someone can help. I have made a backup of my BIOS but cannot merge with a newly downloaded BIOS update from Dell. I have tried to follow the steps but I keep failing. Any help would be a greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Vostro 5620 BIOS
Ok. I have tried again and realised that when I try to detect chip it says no chip found. The backup I thought I had made is useless.... The chip is XMC 25QH256CXIQ and the programmer is CH341A Pro with WSON8 adaptor. Thanks again for your help and patience.
For some background... The laptop is believed to have been powered off during BIOS update and now wont power up.Last edited by bcrsr; 06-16-2023, 09:03 AM.

Hello,
Computer Model: Dell Vostro 5620
Service Tag: 4HPNGS3
Reg Model: P117F
Problem: Computer appears to try to power on, but doesn't complete POST and doesn't charge normally. This machine might have several problems, but I wanted to start with a new BIOS.
I created a dump of the original BIOS which is on a GigaDevice 25B256EYIG WSON8 IC and then I downloaded the latest update from Dell and used Dell PFS python script to extract out all of the images but this is where I am not sure what to do. I know I need to merge in the BIOS update image into my dumped file and maybe even clean the ME but I am still not used to doing this yet so I was hoping someone could help.
Thank you. Attached original dump.Attached Files

Dell Vostro 5620
Service Tag D47CKL3
System powering on but not posting image, PCH side of CPU is working and cycling thru some amperage around 0.15-0.30 but CPU side is not working and no voltage at coils at all.
I suspect this is a BIOS related issue
Any help will be appreciated
