You have chosen the wrong chip to backup, it is a common mistake that many inexperienced people do. The file that you backed up is the thunderbolt firmware, the chip is 1MB (1024KB) ,but your backup is 1025KB. The file is corrupt now because you chose an OTP chip , or the programmer did with the Auto-detect. 64 bytes have been added to the end of the file and deleted from the top.

Don`t erase that chip and don`t try to flash the backup back to it, find the real bios chip. When you find it choose the chip manually, the Autodetect setting is very poor, and don`t choose an OTP chip. I assume you`re using a cheap nasty CH341A/EZP programmer

                    Hi SMDFlea,

Thanks for your reply, So, I don't touch the saved chip, but I look for another bios chip on the motherboard, is that it?
I still use the same CH341A/EZP programmer?
Or do you have another model to recommend? Thanks.

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.

I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip...

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…...
