Hi everyone, i have a serious problem with a HP Probook 440 G8, i was changing the bios image and two pins of ec rom were damaged, so, i used another memory but using another bios image, the laptop was corrupted by bios incompatible serials and i can´t made a backup, how ca i recover the bios roms to repair the laptop?

Buy an SPI programmer to extract the bios file then use RC unlocker to unlock it.
There are many types of SPI programmers, but the cheapest is CH341A (cheapest but not best ).

Hi. I am trying to unlock the bios password on a 440 G8 laptop using CH341a and needle cable probe (not having to desolder chip) but no success. Seems to have read the chip (EC ROM GD25B256DYIG) correctly but once unlocked with RC Unlock and rewritten, not working. I have also learn that BIOS password is not stored on SPI ROM (Winbond 25Q256JVEQ) but on EC ROM. Please, need some help. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Thanks but the computer does not start after flashing EC ROM with the file you provided (like with all the rest of files tested). Charging light on if plugged, but nothing else. Any suggestions?
