    a1932 - macbook air 2019 - 820-01521-a

the notebook had liquid damage. i cleaned everything. the damage included the typical spot on the right audio port, but no short on the ppbus_g3h. there was also corrosion on the pmc. the notebook only worked (both before and after cleaning) in safe mode. in verbose mode the device shows that it can't load the igpu firmware and then crashes/restarts with kernel panic. the measurements are unremarkable, all rails are there. in safe mode the devices that can be controlled work fine. i wonder if anyone has had this problem . maybe the liquid damage is just coincidence, because the cpu tends to fail on these devices...

12.6 V at ppbus_g3h, while bat is not connected
    5.12 V to pp5v_g3s
    3.3 V at pp3v3_g3h
    Core voltages are normal

maybe this is a t2 issue and can be solved with restoring the device in dfu mode?

okay, nvm. it was a firmware bug regarding the new monterey update... the liquid damage had nothing to do with it.

      820-01521-A (MacBook Air A1932 2019) stuck on 5V
      by mferna14
Hi all dear friend., today I am working on 820-01521-A logic board (MacBook Air A1932 2019) stuck on 5V .19 milliamps. The history of this logic board was liquid spill on major components. First gave a good cleanup & both CD3215C00Z were getting very hot, so I replaced both. Now on the 12V coil, there is only 5v present & 3.3V is perfect. In some area like PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3HRTC , PPBUS_G3H_TPAD etc., 12V is perfect. On the 5v coil .2 volts only. I checked the enable signal on the regulator chip, enable is NOT present. The logic board is very clean, I do not see any signs of spill anymore....

      Macbook Air 2019 A1932 / 820-01521-A No power
      by Bogbog
      Hello,

      I recently acquired a faulty Macbook Air 2019 A1932 with mainboard 820-01521-A.

Seller claimed that device just stopped working suddenly.

Device does not boot or give any signal of life other than the white led on mainboard.
Using cheap multimeter and microscope I went trough list of semi-random diagnostic steps:

      Voltage measurements

Charger in USBC-B (closer to display) everything disconnected.

      PP20V_USBC_XB_VBUS 20.7v
      PP3V3_UPC_XB_LDO 3.25v
      PP1V8_UPC_XB_LDOA 1.81V
      PP1V8_UPC_XB_LDOD 1.80V...

MacBook Pro A2442 (Board No. 820-02443-05) – Liquid Damage Repair Assistance
      by rounin
      Device Information
      • Model: MacBook Pro 14” M1 Pro (A2442)
      • Logic board number: 820-02443-05

      Original Issue
The device suffered liquid damage, causing a short circuit on the logic board.
Near the audio jack area, the CR852 capacitor pad was severely burned, creating a clear short-circuit path. The board could not power on properly.

      Work Performed
Removed the short circuit by drilling through the board (bypassing the short path) in the CR852 area.

      Current Status
      • When powered on, the screen shows support.apple.com/mac/restore....

MacBook Air M4 A3240 Brand New Water Damage no Image
      by Ugur87
I have a brand new 13.6-inch MacBook Air M4 that was only used for three days and now has water damage. A glass of water was spilled over it. I examined the motherboard and there was only water next to the display connector. I cleaned it with isopropanol and the components look clean. The MacBook obviously turns on and draws 20 volts from the power supply. The keyboard backlight comes on, but the display remains black. Where should I best start? Even when I shine a light on the display, I don't see any image. I have all the tools I need, including an infrared camera. Where should I best start?...
