    Dell Inspiron 3593 (Not Charging The Battery)

    Can anyone please HELP.

    I have a Dell inspiron 3593 (FDI55 LA-J081P) REV:1.0 (A00)
    The battery does not charge it Identifies the Chargers 65w and 90w but as soon as I connect the battery it says (AC NOTinstalled and Starts Discharging the battery)at one point it would charge then after 2 min go to IDLE.

    I have tried the following.

    1. Flash with different Bin files
    2. Changed Batteries with known Good ones
    3. changed charging Jack

    DCIN 19v
    PSID 3.0v

    Please Help.

      Remove all power -> meter in resistance mode -> check the usual 2 x DCin mosfets to see if they are defective or not.

                  SDA/SCL present on charging chip?? If you have DSO, check communication on SDA/SCL lines.

                      sir if the communication shows, does it mean that all charging circuit, i.e its IC, Caps, Resistors, Mosfets are OK or we should explore/test further.

                          SDA/SCL communication is just one part of troubleshooting a charging circuit. You simply cant ignore the other aspects. This communication cant rule out other faults.

                                  Hi Guys,
                                  I am seeking some assistance with a Dell Inspiron 3593 FD155 LA-J081P (REV 1.0) (A00) laptop
                                  The laptop is working fine with the adapter plugged in and also with a charged battery.
                                  Problem is that the laptop is not charging the battery. The battery is recognized in the bios but the
                                  ac adapter is listed as 'Not Installed'. So for instance, when a charged battery from another source
                                  loses its charge, it stays on 0%.

                                  Hi all,

                                  I'm troubleshooting an issue with a laptop where it doesn't seem to want to charge the battery. The laptop will run off the battery alone and use/drain the battery normally in this situation, it will run off the AC adapter alone, and it will run with both charger and battery connected, but it doesn't seem to charge the battery under any circumstance.

                                  recently i was gifted a dell inspiron 5567 for wiping the data on the hard drive. (yay me). however i already have a computer that i use, so i have no need for this computer. this computer wasn't without its problems though.

                                  1. i had to purchase an adapter to retrofit my older style dell laptop battery cable. (not too expensive) ~= 10 bucks for a 2 pack via amz.

                                  2. after that i had to find a spare cr2032 (easily found in my parts bin) and assemble a makeshift cmos battery thanks to some copper foil tape and some heat shrink tubing.

                                  got the computer...
