the charge ic number is BQ24780
    pin 1 acin = 19 v
    pin 2 acp 19 v
    pin3 cmsrc 19 v
    pin4 acdrv 24 v
    pin 5 acok 3 v
    pin 6 acdrt 2.5 v
    pin 7 iadp 0 v
    pin 8 idchg 0 v
    pin 9 imvp8 psys 0 v
    pin 24 chg regen 6 v
ther is a diod its number is D60099 which there is 19 v on two legs of its legs and the leg which connected to the battery coil has 1.4 v

    The ACDRV is good.

    1) Remove all power & battery.

    2) trace the ACDRV pin to the usual 2 x DCin mosfets.

    3) Meter in resistance mode -> check the resistance of the same 2 x DCin mosfets.

    source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
    source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
    gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

Re: hp 640 G2 charging issue

The VCC pin #28 on the charger IC looks low for the DC adapter voltage that is coming into the board.

Double check that part of the circuit.

the 2 mosfet in charging circuit the uper one has 19 on the drain 0.485 on gate and 0.485 on source and lower mosfet has 0.485 on drain and 0 on gate and 0 on source now the output volt to the charging coil is 0.485

i changed the charging ic BQ24780 with BQ24780S now the output = 12 volt and now the laptop is charging thank you man

Re: hp 640 G2 charging issue

These charger designs are often with N-channel mosfets for the 2 x DCin. The gate needs to be ~6 volts higher than the voltage they are passing to enable.

You mentioned that ACDRV at the IC is ~24v ? This is a good voltage, yet the GATE voltage on the mosfets is ~0 v ?

Remove all power -> search for a series resistor ~4k ohms that should be between ACDRV and the GATE of the DCin mosfets.

It appears that this series resistor may be damaged or missing.

If your design is not like the reference TI datasheet then we need to know the topside markings of your mosfets. Post all of the details.

                3) Meter in resistance mode -> check the resistance of the same 2 x DCin mosfets.

                source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
                source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
                gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)
Remove all power -> post these resistance measurements for a review.

Update - very good work !! (ignore this post)

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                  by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

Alienware 15 R2 Service Tag: DL7NN32 ISSUE (Battery is not charging)
                  by Simone Vergani
                  Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.

To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:

                  MacBook Air M1 A2337 battery/charging issue
                  by drlarsen
Hello. Sorry for the long post, but I am trying to decide if this is a simple battery replacement, or potentially something more complicated.

I bought an open box MacBook Air M1 2020 A2337. Seller claimed it was never used. Visually, it appears pristine.

On arrival, the battery was completely flat. Computer powers up and boots fine. Battery status showing 1% and charging, 1 cycle. coconutBattery showing 0 mAh and ~6 watts.
After some hours, the battery status did not improve. Restore via DFU did not help.

I connected the power adapter to a Kill-a-Watt...

Have Dell la-j081p laptop with battery issue.
First the laptop was not charging pqb25 was short after changing pqb25 and pqb26 the laptop starts charging and runs properly on charger but battery it shutdown after 10 seconds.
And when powered on only on battery the laptop turns off after 8-10 second without giving display.have tried another battery on another working laptop and it's working fine
I have changed charging ic and pqb25 ,pqb26 and pqb13.
When adapter is disconnected the laptop stays on battery for 8-10 sec then abruptly shutdown everytime.

MacBook Air A1466 820-00165 Charging Issue
                  by DominikPechac
                  Hello everyone,

I have a problem identifying a problem on this MacBook Air A1466 with board 820-00165.
A customer came in with a problem, the laptop was not charging. Otherwise, it works fine - runs from a battery without an issue. The battery is original, the customer also provided his original charger.

However, when I was diagnosing the issue, I turned the laptop off, checked the board, etc. When I put everything back together, the laptop was charging (I inserted the charger and then turned the laptop on). After unplugging the charger and plugging it back,...
