7.The initial measurements revealed that the PPBUS was short-circuited to the ground, apparently due to burning of the touch interface, so the next step was to scrape the touch panel interface to heal the wound until the PPBUS was tested -- normal.Click image for larger version

10, deal with CD3218. Install, power test, found that JF601 JF600 both ends are not boost, the current stays about 0.0246, test the other side, JG600, you can easily boost the current has been turned on. But unfortunately found dark screen. It's the damn backlight IC again.Click image for larger version

    12. To replace the backlight IC, fortunately, the machine has miraculously turned on and the machine is perfect, but the machine is still not perfect repair, there, left TYPE-C, power port can not be used, only the right port can be charged, but also can only charge, can Not use some of the USB operation, of course, the touchpad must not be used, no idea can only put aside, waiting for inspiration to reproduce,

The second machine is out of order; the second machine doesn't turn on because of the water. It's the same one that burned a hole in the touchpad interface. The motherboard is a2442 820-02098-07
    1. Disassembly detection motherboard as shown, the same formula, this design, it is too crappy, why water always burn here.[ATTACH]Click image for larger version

20 year old Kenmore refrigerator ice maker bad water valve coil took a crap
          by sam_sam_sam
I got lucky that when I got home and was about to get some ice out of the ice dispenser I hear and see water running down the outside of the ice dispenser what the heck is going on here

At first I thought that the ice dispenser mold was cracked so I brought a new ice maker because this one has been in there for about 10 years now

Well I put the new one in and wait and I wait for the water valve to open and let water in no such luck well there is a way to check the function of the motor and the water valve on this ice maker just need a jumper wire “L” to...

Stagg sms12p audio amp has water damage
          by edugimeno
Hi! My friend just brought this audio amplifier/speaker fro his music band saying they realized its got no sound. Led powers up but there no sound at all
I opened it and found 3 board. 2 of them are for input plugs and potentiometers, and the other larger board has the amplifiers for 2 large speakers that it drives
There's also a large toroid transformer that feeds a lower voltage to the first 2 boards and a larger voltaje (36x2 rectified close to 100v) to the power board. The power board has the plugs for both speakers
There is only one signal wire connecting the first boards...

          Water Damaged Toshiba 48L1435DB
          by RetroComputingGrotto
I have a water damaged Toshiba TV that was hanging nicely on the wall then over the summer we had a new multi-million pound boiler system put in and right where this TV was hanging is a nice new pair of water pipes for the radiators...

The TV hasnt been used for a fair few months but it was needed again the other day and needless to say, it didn't power on or show any signs of life (no standby LED etc). After checking the fuse in the plug (and that the socket it was plugged in to worked) I decided to get up some step ladders to take a closer look and low and behold! It looks like...

          A2442 TOUCHID NOT WORKING
          by macabook
I have an issue with a Mac A2442 , that had initially a short circuit on Q5800 after replacement it turn on without any other issue, only finger print not working. I follower the post " MacBook Pro M1 2021 A2442 Touch ID stopped working" by measuring in diode mode all SPI seems ok, but when checking for voltage i notice something strange regarding PP1V2_S2.

The chips UT620, UT520, UT540 are powered by PP1V2_S2 (according schematic and board view), this voltage is missing, and when I check continuity with PP1V2_S2 rail, found that it is not connected to it. Compared on another...

MacBook A2442 not powering on – suspecting CD3217, but replacement didn’t help
          by TechSplendid
          Hi All,

I'm working on a MacBook Pro A2442 (14", 2021) that's not powering on. On two out of three USB-C ports, I get 5V and the current briefly ramps up to around 0.210A before dropping to 0.036A. On the third port (JF600), I only get 0.0045A and it stays there.

Initially, I suspected a faulty CD3217 on that port, especially since I noticed signs of previous liquid damage near the JF600 USB connector. I replaced the CD3217 with an UF400 (from an A2442 donor board from the same location). According to the supplier, this should be a compatible version, but the behavior...
