A1708 - Problem With Display - Driving Me Insane

I am working on an A1708 MacBook Pro 13 / Mid 2017 with a keyboard problem. I replaced the palmrest and installed a new battery, which is when the fan started.

When powering on the MacBook, the fan would spin for a few seconds and go off, and nothing would show off on the screen. However, when I disconnected the battery, the laptop would work.

So, I ordered a new battery, but the problem was the same. I spent hours figuring out the problem, but the logic board eventually stopped working.

The next step was to order a replacement logic board - but the same problem was present. So, I ordered another palmrest and battery. The problem is still present.

I even replaced the trackpad and the screen, but the problem didn't go.

Today - I figured out that powering on the laptop first without the battery, shutting it down, and adding the battery resolved the problem. However, I now have a new issue.

When I close the screen and open it again, the screen will not come on. The keyboard backlight is on as normal. When this happens, I must disconnect the battery and go through the same process.

Please help me! Someone must have gone through this and come out on the other side.

Fairly sure this model is linked to flexgate.

Depending on how loud you can yell & scream at Apple, you should be able to get it covered under warranty.

Also demand that they replace the wimpy butterfly keyboard which will give you / client issues.

We have done this with success for numerous end customers - Apple replaced the keyboard assembly & case as well as the display assembly under warranty.

Thank you for your reply. It's not the screen because I have tried 3 differents screens and the problem was the same.

Can you see the graphics on any of the tested display panels ? Use a flashlight / phone torch and view at assorted angles to see if the panel is working.

You have replaced the palmrest which is linked to the lidswitch.

Are you using the same flex cables as the original or were they replaced ?

With power off, carefully review the seating of the palmrest cabling.

You can try without the palmrest connected - remove the cable from the logic board and test again.

What is the voltage of LID_OPEN when the lid is open and the palmrest is connected ?

          A1708 peculiar bms problem.
          by 100FIX
Hi, I have a mbp a1708 2017 that I am trying to fix.

(1.) It turns on fine on ac power when bms flex is unplugged.

(2.) I noticed when battery & charger is unplugged and reconnected, it turns on only after a few minutes but doesn't stay on battery power i.e. it turns off as soon as charger is unplugged and doesn't turn on until (2.) is repeated. During this time, health information and charging information are displayed and normal and battery charges but laptop turns off as soon as charger is disconnected.

I have reballed u7000, problem persists.

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
          by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
          1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
          2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
          3. Problem: TV shuts down

          Apple A1708 charging problem
          by Jacksoft
          Hi all,
we have a MacBook Pro A1708 with board 820-00840-A that initially had U3200 (one of the CD3215C00) in short. We replaced both and now on one Type-C port charger goes up to 20V and on the battery pin the we have about 12V, but on the other port the charge is stuck to 5V with no PP3V3_G3H (that's strange). Already checked resistors and capacitors solder and all seems ok.
We found that when, on the other port, the voltage goes up to 20V this value is present on both U3100 and U3200 caps (C3101 and C3201) that should not (am I right?), so Q3100 or Q3200 is in short (we still...

          i have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...
