Here we will give just a few pointers to what kind of troubleshooting has to be done if you suspect a board issue.

Powers on but no display[LIST][*]Check if it's no backlight, no image or both
    • If no image:
      • Check if external display works, try with internal LCD disconnected as well.
      • Measure voltage on LCD power rail(s)
    • If no backlight but image is present
      • Try to locate the fuse (or resistor or inductor) to backlight rail and check if it's blown
      • Measure voltage on backlight rail, backlight enable signal, brightness adjustment signal
[*]Check if laptop is POSTing: pressing caps lock key triggers caps lock LED, activity of USB drive blinks when turning on, audio plays, HDD is being read, etc… If it's not POSTing:
    • Check RAM compatibility
    • Reseat RAM and clean RAM slots
    • Measure exact voltage on CPU VCore
    • Check CPU Reset signal
    • Follow power sequence if it exists in the schematics
    • Follow list of power rails if it exists in the schematics

you can disable the discrete VGA. To do this, remove the following inductors: PL8601, PL8503, PL8504, PL8501, PL8506, PL8505, PL8507, PL8503. Removing these will enable the UMA mode.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Precision 3660 - BIOS Image, Hidden Settings, Thermal Settings ?
          by juergenb
I got my self a new Dell Workstation (Dell Precision 3660, i5-13500).

Unfortunately, Dell has fixed the front fan´s settings in the BIOS.
Both the speed and the presence of the fan are fixed.

There seems to be no hidden setting.

The thermal tables for the speeds were changed in one of the last BIOS updates.

Do you see a possibility to change these tables from the BIOS update file?

          Precision_3660_2.1.0 -> Release Notes

Updated the thermal table to reduce fan noise.
          Updated Intel Management...
