    Iphone 6 not charging Battery

Hi guys i have an Iphone 6 that would not charge. It works fine off a charged battery. I want to determine if it's a bad port or U2 charging IC . Any basic way of checking if the U2 IC is bad or maybe it's the port? When i plug charger cable and i measure the battery terminal on the board without battery i get 2.5v .
I cleaned the port the best i can. Same 2.5v.
Based on you all experience you think it is a bad port or bad U2 Charging IC Chip ?

Okay thanks a lot for leading me down the right path. Turned out to be a dirty charging port.Cleaned the charging port and voltage read normal 3.7v and charging the battery. So according to the video if I had a good known working charging port and i was still getting 0.5v or under 1.8v it means that the U2 IC most likely is bad and needs replacing. Thanks again mon2

I would review to source at least the low cost breakout pads board so that you can use diode mode of testing the tristar IC (U2). Tristar chips do fail often and are good to keep ni your toolchest.

We have seen numerous cases where the customer purchases a nasty low cost cable for charging and damages (arcs) the mating contact pins. In this case, the charging cable needed to be replaced.

Also, cases where the tristar IC gets zapped and needs to be replaced. Diode mode or a special tester are handy to troubleshoot this case.
