    HP 650 G2 Troubleshooting Help

    Hi
I'm asking for help with the CIRCUS-6050A2723701-MB-A02 motherboard that I can't turn on.
I have typed into memory all the bios posted on this forum, with all pretty much the same result: Turns on the fingers, POWER, AUDIO on/off, and WRILES LED, and after 10-15 seconds the fan starts up with increasing speed.
All voltage sources are OK except for two that don't draw any voltage:
    U66010 and U66310 (SIC631) = 0V I measured with ohmmeter against ground the outputs after coil L66010 and L66310 = 5,311Ohm
I measured the voltages on pins U66010 and U66310:
    Voltages with power OFF button
    Pin 1=0V
    Pin 2=2V
    Pin 3=5.2V
    Pin 5=4.9V
    Pin 7=0V
    Pin 8,.....11=19,7V
    Pin 16,....23=0V
    Pin 29=5,2V

    Voltages with power button ON
    Pin 1=2,58V
    Pin 2=0V
    Pin 3=5,2V
    Pin 5=4,9V
    Pin 7=0V
    Pin 8,.....11=19,7V
    Pin 16,....23=0V
    Pin 29=5,2V

Re: HP 650 G2 Troubleshooting Help

Can anyone tell me what the voltage should be on those two sources?
What is the value of the output resistance to ground?

In these cases it is often a communications issue between the VRM Controller and the CPU, which usually means the CPU is bad. Measure Power Inputs, Enables, PGood, VRHOT# and ALERT# to have a basic overview

Advanced help for troubleshooting CPU voltages on a Lenovo L490
          by rddube
          Hello everyone,

This is the same laptop that SMDflea helped me diagnose a problem with the memory 1.2v power supply. Turns out the laptop now boots and everything works fine except 2 things. The CPU is either undervolted because it throttles @ 390mhz. Aida 64 reports it as overheating detected so throttling which makes it go very, very slow....... Another problem is their doesn't seem to be any sound chip or the laptop doesn't detect it but the chip is there.

Not sure if the 2 problems are related, but anyhow the most important problem I need to pin down is the CPU voltage....

Powersupply has all the voltages - Monitor still no power
          by Capacitorial
          Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
          On The TCON...

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
          by blues_spirit
          Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...
