    A1990 Board no boot

    No power no boot,
    Connected to battery:
    20V
.59amps climbs up to .90 then resets back to zero and repeats, CPU and GPU does not get hot.

    Not connected to battery:
    20V
.07 Amps and steady no climb or drop

    Voltage readings:
    PPBUS_G3H 12Volts
    PPBUS_DCIN_CHGR 20Volts

Also the board can get into DFU but it will not restore. Gives off errors.

Board is not water damaged and is mint condition with no previous work or repair.

      Hi.

You have no current draw when operating off the external power adapter but ok with the battery.

      Focus on U7000.

      Post the voltages on:

      I2C_PWR_SDA
      I2C_PWR_SCL

also on the related interface lines @

      U6950

      SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SCL
      SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SDA

          I2C_PWR_SDA - 1.80V
          I2C_PWR_SCL - 1.80V

          U6950

          SMBUS_3v3_BATT_SCL - 3.40V
          SMBUS_3v3_BATT_SDA - 3.40V

            Re: A1990 Board no boot

These are good readings for the I2C / SMBUS line. There is a logic level translation (mosfets) to allow for interfacing the 1v8 GPIO pins and other side is 3v3. They do not appear to be stuck.

See attached. While it may seem early, suspecting that U7000 is defective based on the fact that you have 20V but low current draw. So you do not have a faulty cap on the INPUT to U7000 otherwise the 20V would sink down to a very low value.

The output rail is ok since the battery works.

The I2C bus is ok so it is not the root cause - although we did have this case and was linked to the ESD diodes camped on the I2C lines. We had bad voltages on the SCL or SDA line. Removed the ESD device and that fixed this logic board.

You can check if the mosfet is ok @ Q7030, Q7040 and Q7065. It may be tricky to measure these mosfets due to the density of the board.

One suggestion is to use wirewrap or a single strand of wire wrapped around the meter probe and use the flying single strand of wire as your probe.

Then remove all power (including battery), meter in resistance mode and check the resistance of each mosfet:

            source & drain
            source & gate
            gate & drain

If you have a very low reading on the meter, then the mosfet is bad and will need to be replaced. In our case, we went ballistic and replaced each mosfet, U7000 (twice) and still did not work - till the ESD diode was removed.

Consider to check the mosfets (Q7030, Q7040 and the battery mosfet @ Q7065) and then I would replace U7000. I believe that Mobilesentrix (USA) is carrying the ISL9240 devices now. We brought in a batch from Aliexpress, if you are stuck.

We want to be sure that the battery mosfet is not damaged (shorted to be always ON) and possibly causing U7000 to shutdown. This is another possible scenario.

              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

              Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

              More Details

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

              Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
              by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
              CN6401
              Pin 01 NC
              Pin 02 NC
              Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
              Pin 04 "N/C"
              Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
              Pin 06 "GND": N/C
              Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
              by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
