    Macbook 13A1502 820-4924 Rebooting

It turns on, but anywhere from turning it on until hours after logging in random kernel panics, screen going dark (but backlight still lit), and completely turning off happen.

Happens at idle CPU temperatures as well a 95+ degrees.
Doesn't matter what is happening, idling, running CPU/GPU/SSD stress tests, using web browser.

Memtest ran for 4 hours no failures.
Issue happens in SMC bypass mode.
    Apple diagnostics says no problems.
    Re-applied thermal paste.
No corrosion at all on the board.
I have tried running with no battery, only battery, battery and magsafe at the same time, problems occur during all scenarios.

I read that the 15" version has bad mosfets that fail over time, those unfortunately aren't in the 13"

    Re: Macbook 13A1502 820-4924 Rebooting

I've tried several things since then:

    Removing the right I/O board.
Going back from monterey to high sierra.
Installing OS on a USB drive, it was really slow to install and run, but it didn't crash.

I now have a new SSD in, previously the macbook would be able to run form 4-5 hours before crashing, it has now been running for 10 hours without restarting. I'm jinxing it so I can get it to crash sooner, but this looks like the issue!

Well done for trying the SSD. It doesn't sound like a logic board issue to me especially with the varying degrees of time for the shut downs. Report back let us know if it's worked!

Replaced the SSD and the laptop ran for 14 hours without a crash. I'd consider this solved.

Thanks this is brilliant and thanks again for telling us. And just to think from all the different approaches available and that this is one that has worked out! Amazing! :-)

MacBook Pro M2 A2338 with PowerSupply it is running, "X" on the battery symbol and FAN is running permanently
            by Schluchti45
I have a MacBook Pro A2338 M2. The MacBook runs with the power supply unit. The fan runs permanently and the battery shows the message “Service recommended”.
I have already replaced the battery with a new one, but this has not helped. I have also tried DFU and the system restored the error remains the same.
Do any of you have any ideas where I could look or how I should proceed here?...

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock

            Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

Macbook Pro 15" 2018(820-01041-A) Freezing, Rebooting, Kernel Panics but only with connected Battery
            by CornholioGSM
            Hello,
I have here one interesting problem.
            Macbook Pro 15" 2018(820-01041-A)
Laptop comes to me with freezing and rebooting problem. All inside was relatively clean and no water damage. Only visible problem was one swolled cell on battery...all was looking like batt problem.
I have put inside new - not original batt, but problem with freezing still. I am able to boot into os, then pc can run few seconds, then freezes and reboot and reboot until force power off.
Quickly i am able to see battery information...batt is detected normally in os with power cycles hours...

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
            by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
            • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
              • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
            • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
              • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
            • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)
