HP Laptop TPN-C125 replacement batteries will not charge after 12 months

I got four replacement batteries for these HP laptops about a year ago. The originals would not charge, and these replacements have now gone the same way.

I'm not sure what the expected life of a laptop battery is but I woud have thought they would last longer than that

I now need to order four more batteries. Possibly these replacement ones were now good? The owner does not mind paying a bit more for originals or good compatible batteries that last longer

The top one is the original

    Any ideas?
    Cheers

charged batteries have a 500 charge capacity (some 1000 times). however, rechargeable batteries need to be charged and used, even weekly. Batteries that are not used at all begin to die after a while.
I'm not happy to be so strong. because it's not humanly

So you guys are saying if I get 'original' HP batteries they may not last any longer than the generic replacements?

Aftermarket batteries are often not up to the spec of OEM batteries. Cells are low quality and lower capacity, BMS is not programmed properly and they may lack safety devices (thermocouples, fuse with trigger, etc.). Sometimes you get decent stuff, sometimes not.
When possible, an OEM battery is always preferable, but for a 6 years old consumer laptop it's likely that the OEM batteries have been out of production for a while, so chances are you won't find one. (or if there is new-old stock, it was stored for several years so it probably started to degrade already)
