    A1707 820-00928 ssd detected/not detected

    A1707 820-00928 soldered on ssd detected/not detected.
When booting into net recovery i can only see disk image aprox. 2gb BUT when booting from external drive I can see the drive format it in disk utility etc.
Now the strange thing is that i cannot install through recovery since the drive is not detected and when trying to preform installation through external system by downloading image through app store it fails at some point every single time.
I also tried to format the drive to journaled and to apfs from DU and terminal and install with different systems but no luck.
I wonder what am i missing since the drive seems fine on external but not recognized in recovery, also HW test shows all good..

Did you try running first aid... If not try to run first aid..2-3 times.. Format 2-3 times... Then install from external... And keep the WiFi connected...

Though it's sounding more looked a ssd chip issue...
I had the same issue with external ssd in a1466

This may have been covered already but MacOS will not install to a disk that is not properly formatted. I believe you have tried already but it's interesting that Disk Utility will see the drive but MacOS will not use it. Make sure that as well as using MacOS Extended Journaled or APFS that the scheme is set to GUID Partition Map. Also make sure that you are erasing the device and not just the partition. I believe that MacOS will not use a device that is base formatted as MBR. Make sure that you view "Show All Devices" when you format the drive.

          Mac A1707 No recovery mode
          by scrubey
          Hello all,

Wondered if anyone had experienced a similar issue to this.

I have an A1707 which cannot enter recovery mode.
When trying to access recovery mode (cmd+r) I get an Apple logo and no progress bar. It hangs on this screen indefinitely.

When trying to access internet recovery mode (option+cmd+r or shift+option+cmd+r) I get the same screen. No spinning globe. This is regardless of whether I have an ethernet cable connected or not.

Interestingly, the same behaviour is seen when trying to boot apple diagnostics.

          I have...

A2141 no signal on external screen while recovery
          by myth77
I dont do Macs, so i really dont know their specific behavior, but i received one (from the title) with smashed screen. It is turning on..but i dont want to buy a new screen to find out it is locked or dead or something. So, i removed lcd connector from motherboard and i am using adapter from usb-c to hdmi to connect laptop to external monitor. It seems that laptop is wiped because it goes to recovery (internet) and at first it seems all ok...i can see apple logo and downloading ios, then when it goes to installation i can see progress bar, and after couple of seconds it goes to "no signal"...

A1534 2015 820-00045 internal display not detected, but external works
          by baglaivlad
          Hi everyone!
Trying to repair A1534 2015 macbook. The keyboard and touchpad was liquid damaged by coke, but the MLB has no signs of corrosion. The laptop successfully turned on, but missed a display flex. Replaced keyboard, touchpad and display flex, but still no image on the internal display (no backlight as well). When connecting to the external display the laptop works just fine (I have an image).
It seems like internal display is not recognized. I tried multiple known-good displays and display flexes, the outcome is the same: no life on the display.
          It lead me to believe...
