    hi.

    1) Power down and check each cable from the display to the logic board. Confirm that the mating connectors are seated properly.

While you are in there, please note and post the logic board number.

It should be 820-xxxx format and will be etched onto the circuit board somewhere.

    2) Power on - do you hear the boot chime? You can do the PRAM reset to hear the chime.

    3) Allow for the system to boot and then apply a flashlight from the front side of the display at various angles. Can you see the desktop / login icons ?

If you can see the graphics, then the backlight power supply is not powering the backlight of the display.

First confirm the above and post your results.

Suggest to download the schematic and boardview files for this 820-00239 chassis and then inspect each power rail to confirm they are operational.

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ight=820-00239

You can try to remove the display and work only with the logic board and see if there is a chime or fan spin.

Is the external adapter an official Apple power supply? Is the power adapter powerful enough to support this logic board? Should be 65W or higher I would think.

The USB Type C negotiating @ 20V is a good sign. Please confirm this. This implies that the USB Type C controllers CD3215 are working properly. This is a good sign.

        See here:

        https://logi.wiki/index.php/CD3215_Bootup_Sequence

The boot order of operation is the number inside the circle.

Very unusual for this to happen if you took proper care on the replacement. There are voltages present at the screen connector when the power is off. Shorting one of these to ground would damage the supply line. Do you remember disconnecting the battery before pulling or re-inserting the screen cable?

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

              Hi guys
I'm trying to fix this laptop screen

Basically the owner is a computer shop and they brought it to me with two screens. They said the repair shop they use could not fix it, so I thought i would try to see if I am better than their current repairer!

OK so I have the original screen which works but has lines across the bottom quarter of the screen

I have the replacement screen, which they fitted and it worked. They then put the laptop on one side for a couple of weeks until they found a buyer. When they showed it to the buyer, the screen would...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Fluke 123 no image on the screen
              by Khoja
              Hello experts,

I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.

When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.

At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here...
