Ok we swapped the LCD with a known working LCD with True Tone and Webcam enabled. After we installed it on another Machine it was disabled and no True tone anymore. We took the original LCD back off and put it back on the Machine it originally came from…now True Tone and the Webcam is disabled on this machine as well! Can someone explain why is this happening? People are saying replace it with a known working LCD oem from Apple…well we just did that and now both screens are disabled. What is going on here?
So basically we took the OEM LCD(the removed one we are testing) put it on a working computer that had its original LCD on it(we just disconnected the LCD and tested the external one to verify), disconnected the LCD plugged in the other LCD and the webcam doesn't come up etc. so we plugged back the original LCD that was on his computer and now the webcam, backlight on the keyboard and true tone is disabled on his computer as well...mind you this is HIS original LCD. People are saying T2 disabled his LCD once it tried to get another one and rewritten it. Whats odd is this never happens with our 2019 and 2020 models, just the 2018 T2 15" MacBook Pro. People are saying apple has a calibration tool for LCD models to fix this issue but it is for Apple Certified shops only. We are a third party repair shop and it blows our mind that this takes away RIGHT TO REPAIR. If anyone has any suggestions for us this would be great.
Side note, we tried DFU recovery to no avail. We would appreciate any sound advice, and I can assure you many others would love this advice in the future.
