MacBook Pro 15" A1990 No Webcam on LCD

Multiple LCD's have been swapped and all of them have no Webcam. Took off a known working LCD on another 2018 and the LCD webcam doesn't work on this logic board still. Thoughts? We are assuming logic board issue or maybe something outside the norm?

    Make sure camera isn't disabled.
If you are 100% sure it's an LCD of the correct year with working webcam, try T2 DFU recovery, check camera inductors, camera power rail and camera disable signal.

Mind me asking, Camera in system information does not show up at all whatsoever. We are going to swap one more LCD and keep you posted. Also Camera disable signal? can you explain further on that?

Hey Piernov, if the LCD does not have True Tone and no webcam...would this be considered a NON-OEM LCD?

And also if the webcam is disabled would that make True Tone disabled because the webcam is next to the ambient light sensor (which gets power on the same connection)?

OK Update on the update....we took a working 2018 LCD with True Tone and Camera working, took the LCD off and put it (the suspected LCD that we thought was not OEM) on and it disabled the webcam. We put the original LCD back on the computer it was originally on and now it has disabled the webcam and true tone on the model we pulled the LCD off! So now we know for sure the original LCD that had a disabled webcam actually works. So what gives? What could be the cause of this?

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
                      by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

                      MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...

Hi, I found short on one of 6 black nand (total 1TB).
i removed all 6 nand ( voltages all ok) and now i want to program with JC P15 but for A1990 2019 there is only 512GB configuration.
I try A2141 1TB configurazion with TSB4228 but the position on pcb is different ( U9300 and U9400 is no stuff on A1990 but present on A2141 and U8800 and U8900 is no stuff on A2141 but present on A1990 )
macbook with A2141 configuration run on recovery but don't complete it.
                      anyone can help me?

                      Hi all!
This is my first post and also one of my first "deep dives" into electronic repair. I'm used to doing basic tasks with computers, like SSD/CPU replacement, thermal past re-application, etc. So here's the story...
I have a MacBook Air M1 that I bought to repair (I know, I'm weird; though I'm a CompSci major and want to learn more , and it will not display anything on the internal display. I have verified that there's no backlight, as I booted the laptop and shined a flashlight on it and there's no display; it does completely boot up, and shows fine on an external...

                      MacBook Pro 2018 - A1990 Dead - not charging - only 5V
                      by robka
                      Hi,

                      my MacBook Pro 15" 2018 Touch Bar (A1990) doesn't charge anymore. Board# 820-01041-A

I'm not experienced in diagnostics, but I want to try to solve the problem with your help, because every local shop charges around 600€ (650 usd). Which is the value of the whole Macbook.

The Macbook was charging when suddenly the "charging sound" appeared every other second for around 4-5 times.
After that the Macbook was dead. It isn't charging anymore.

The USB-C Port where the charger was plugged is burned. Also The Cable and the...

                      Macbook Pro A1990 - 820-01041 Stuck at 5V / 0.02A
                      by DATATECH85
                      Hello,
I am currently working on a Macbook Pro A1990 (motherboard 820-01041) which is not charging.
The Macbook consumes 5V and 0.019A at USB-C. There seems to be a partial short-circuit on the PPBUS_G3H rail as I have 0V on this rail.

I've physically separated (by removing F7000 and F7001) PPBUS_G3H and the ISL9240 charging chip to see which side the short is coming from. Removing these fuses gives me 12.6V at the output of the ISL chip (PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG).
However, I can't work out exactly why I don't have the PPBUS_G3H rail.

                      Here are the values...
