    The TPS65982 is the PD controller. Your charger talks to it directly via the CC1 or CC2 lines on the USB-C port. Each USB-C port has their own controller. Perhaps you have an open CC1/CC2 line from your USB-C port to the TPS65982 chip.

    If not replacing the TPS65982DA with a new one should resolve the issue.

      I will suggest to source a fair cost PD bus analyzer tool. Many are now < $100 USD. Then using the tool, you can validate the traffic of the communication between the PD adapter and the PD controller on the logic board.

      I know there are assorted models on Aliexpress but the better tools are the ones from Cypress or ST Semiconductor for power delivery designs. Just a suggestion. These PD bus analyzer tools work with a normal PC and logs the bus traffic on Windows to show the packets, the power delivery contracts, etc.
