I have a MacBook Pro A1398; the logic board has a metal screw terminal that connects the logic board to the case. The board map indicates it is a ground.
The component is BR0901.
I can not tell from the schematic what function this part plays. The board is already grounded through the power supply, so I don't understand the purpose of this terminal.
For those of you with access to this map, the part is on page 9 (at B6).
Can anyone tell me what role this particular component plays and, what the potential hazards are if this component is missing?
Mine has broken off. I don't intend to replace it unless I absolutely have to.
