as someone who has extracted and looked at the rootkit known as "computrace" i can tell you it does not post messages to the user.
if it's in the bios - you will need a utility to examine UEFI modules/apps

HP Elitebook 840 G6
(840 G6 model) Is this a virus malware? How can I remove this? I searched for the number on Google and it shows that it is not legit (probably a virus). I just bought this laptop last week, and everytime I connect it to the internet, this error pops up. Another thing that I found is Computrace or Absolute Persistence Module but I'm not sure what the problem is. The BIOS was unlocked yesterday, but the problem still persist.

I have only seen this kind of message related to computrace, but if that thing still exist after bios reflash and a whole wipe. that could be either a genuine computrace, or a scam. Once activated, the computrace bios element is designed to be un-disableable with bios reflash or user interaction.Comptruce should be visible in the bios when it is equiped with computrace in some sense, other than that I gues it would not be computrace. rpc will be active in the process or services at the same time .
