    HP Pavilion dv5-1160ev

    Hello.
I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1160ev. I opened it for cleaning. All good until It opens normally in the BIOS, but it does not boot either disk or dvd or external media ... I saw a black screen after bios ... What's going on?I change cmos battery, load bios primary defaults. Thanks!

If you loaded BIOS defaults, I would check boot order or SATA mode: IDE / AHCI / Compatible first

See if it's a pb of boot mode : legacy or UEFI .

Hello. Can you describe situation more specific? Before cleaning all was allright? Laptop booted from HDD? Is HDD visible in BIOS? Can you upload photo of your BIOS settings?

Try to power on laptop and press F9 or F12 to go inside boot menu. Then, select Hard Drive as boot source and press enter. If you can't get inside boot menu, try to change boot order in BIOS (first place as Hard Drvie, second CD/DVD etc.).

                        Hello, greeting from Brazil.

The black screen is the memory test. This happens when the system does not boot from Hard Disk.

Try putting the HD as First Boot:
                        Enter Setup:
                        System Configuration>
                        Boot options>
                        Boot Order>

                        Leave the HD as first.

Which OS is on your HDD? Maybe MBR has been corrupted. Try this:
                            https://www.partitionwizard.com/part...s-mbr-fix.html

If this solution doesn't help, try to reprogramm BIOS.
