Hi there, I am hunting down an exact issue, however locating PR102 seems to be a huge challenge. It seems to be nowhere close to PQ100 and does not have its own silk label on the board. I can see a trace going from PQ100 down into a via, which should lead to PR102, but that via continues in the inner layers of the PCB and good luck tracing that..

Managed to source a boardview file from this github thread and open it with Allegro viewer:

So it seems that my board is actually 9560 (silly mistake) and that this model has gotten rid of the PR102 resistor - it does not exist anymore. Which then leaves PQ100 as the only possible culprit. Correct?

Fixed. Thanks to @mcplslg123 for serving it up on a platter. I was misreading the schematic and had replaced two other resistors but once I located and replaced the 33ohm resistor off PQ100, problem solved.

Hi there, I have the exact same board with exact same issue.
Where is the location of that 33 ohm resistor? Or at least do you remember its component code? It is not PR102 as in the older 9550 board

You will have to post pics of your logic board. Guessing it will be near the adapter connector area.

It will be an 0402 sized smd part. Should be black in body color.

Found the PR102 resistor on the 9560 board - it is on the same side as PQ100, right below HDMI port, unmarked, sitting between between LT13 and PL104. It was at 600 ohms instead of 33. Charger is now being recognized after replacing it

hi, i recently got an xps 9550 that won't charge due to the "unknown charger" psid issue.

I replaced pq100 to no change, pr102 reads at 33 ohms, pr101 reads at 2.2k. When pq100 is removed, the source pad reads at 3.3v, the gate reads at 5v, and the drain at 0v. When it is in place, both drain and source read at 1.4v, and gate still reads at 5v. Pd100 is blown clean off and as such reads basically open.

I don't know what exactly to do from here, except maybe investigate pq101.

remove pd100 and check.

Which kbc it uses?? You need to find AD_ID pin on kbc and check whether you have stable and correct voltage there. Trace it back for a resistor valued 33.3Ohms which is culprit in many cases for adapter identification failure.

My PR102 is 1ΚΩ, should i replace just this or the PD100 too?

is your board the same? Does not appear to be. Note the connector to the left is not the power adapter connector.

post full details of your motherboard before replacing any parts.

I haven't upload any pictures of my motherboard, what you comparing?
Anyway, it's the same motherboard as gs84 and the resistor was indeed the cause of the trouble, i replaced it with a 33KΩ and everything i fine now
