Asus laptop, bad keyboard after cleaning

I have a Asus laptop that I was cleaning, changing thermal paste etc.
It was really disgusting, filled with dust and soda, typical teenage laptop.
It was working before I cleaned it but was heating up and had loud fan noise.
I had to completely disassemble it and clean each part in it, had no noticeable troubles except when I was trying to open the cover with the keyboard, it was like it was glued together.
I put it all back and turned it on and everything is working except for the keyboard, power button works and few keys, 5 and 6 and H that I remember atm, but when I press 5 for example I get the letters 6j and other keys do the same or give me j6. If i hold down ctrl, shift or alt I still get 6j or j6 when pressing the other keys.
Unfortunately I dont remember the model and I cant reach it until tomorrow.

Any idea what might be wrong?
I dont have access to same or similar model to try swapping keyboards.
I'll have to go looking around on Monday for replacement parts if I cant figure this one out.

I do have pictures of it.

    Edit:
I forgot to mention that I had to put the keyboard in the sink and brush it with water, and I dried it thoroughly with pressure air.

Any sort of liquid getting inside a keyboard will permanently destroy it.

Some keyboards have silicone which deteriorates when it comes into contact with any liquid (even without any cleaning agent) - deionized water, IPA etc

Asus laptop won't boot (no power) - possible bad caps?
          by jrodefeld
I would like to see if anyone could help me salvage a very expensive laptop that is no longer working.

          The model:
          Asus Zenbook Pro Duo UX582L

I have used this laptop lightly since I purchased it new in 2022. I have always taken precautions to take care of it the best I could, and have never done anything that would risk causing damage to it or shorten it's life.

However, around six months ago, the laptop stopped working on battery power. It continued to work fine when plugged in, but as soon as power was disconnected,...

are there any resources that talk about cleaning keyboards thoroughly, by that i mean removing keycaps and cleaning.
i am worried about breaking those keycaps or the plastic retainer clip.

          Laptop external keyboard?
          by Hondaman
Can I use an external keyboard with a modern (as of this post) laptop from, say, Dell?

I am worried about durability because I am a cheap, frugal person. I suspect an external keyboard would extend the life of the laptop. I have always been a desktop person, since my AMD 386DX-40, and I really don't know about laptops (though the current Dell products look like they are fanless, which eliminates a big failure point).

(Also I prefer the "clicking" "Unicomp" keyboard, which is still made an hour or two away from me in Lexington KY, using the same equipment...

novice user attempting first BIOS write on ASUS laptop
          by alphabetty
          Hello first post!

Ok so after an (ASUSTek) optional Windows update, my old ASUS E403NA laptop rebooted and froze in the BIOS menu screen and was unresponsive so after about 30 mins I powered off and back on again. Now i just get a power LED and a black screen, I have tried all the basic suggestions and all the suggestions on the ASUS site, spoke to ASUS support who said I will need to pay for an RMA.

The laptop is worth €50 so I won't be doing the RMA at god knows what price.

So I have seen some videos where people have reprogrammed the BIOS...
