Laptop doesn’t post,Fan spins constantly, sometimes it does post and display

    Hello guys

    A Lenovo V310-15IKB
    DA0LV6MB6F Rev : E

Laptop turns On, i have the green light, it charging but it doesn't post no display no nothing. But when you keep on turning it On and Off it start normal, post and work normal.

I checked the ram power supply coil i have 1.2v and when i check the ram itself it shows me 2.5v

Kindly see attached photos, on those two coils i have 0v even if it does start normal and work but still i have 0v

    What must be the issue?

2.5V is waaaay too much for ddr4!
Also why is there a component missing?

Thanks for responding, jah true 2.5v is way too much for ddr4, but the laptop does work if you i keep on tryin and the ram was 2.5v but it was working fine I didn't anything wrong...my friend im really confused and I can't find the schematic

Im pretty sure it is because of the missing component. Looks like some output cap of a buck regulator. This will cause the buck regulator to become unstable and possibly overshoot its voltage target.
Can you confirm that this is the rail for ddr voltage? I marked it red in my last reply.

Okay i will use the continuity mode to confirm if on the same power rail with the ram power supply, i will keep you updated and thank you so much

Wait you think there is chance for ceramic capacitor to move out of the board easily like that ?

Even if it is not the ram rail you must put a cap there. A failing power rail would hinder the system to POST. There are no schematics or boardview available. I'll try to find a high res photo of that are though.

You can very what the rail is for in the meantime. Yes, continuity (diode) mode and look where that rail goes to. Disconnect all power from the board when doing that!!

EDIT: Actually, this component doesn't have to be populated. Why does it look like something has been ripped of the board? I found a clear picture of the area.

But you still have a problem on your ram power rail. Are you sure your measurement was correct before? Confirm ram voltage again please.

Yes i even changed the ram and measure the ram ceramic capacitors they give me 2.5v but when i measure the output coil of the ram piwer suplly i get 1.8v

Are you sure that you measure on the correct caps? Also 1.8v is still way too much. Take a look at the feedback circuit of the ram power supply. Maybe there's a blown/corroded resistor somewhere. Make sure all components are ok.

I got a tricky one today in the form of a macbook air A1466 820-00165-A that will recognize the charger and turn the light green then back to orange and the fan will spin constantly, but the system won't power on. The screen never turns on, it doesn't make the bong noise it's supposed to, and pressing the power button doesn't do anything. When I took the board out to visibly inspect it I only found one spot of corrosion on the bios IC. I pulled the chip, cleaned it and the area with IPA and put fresh solder on both and put the bios chip back on, but when I went to test it again it still does the...

                    Hello,

I've repaired a few laptops in my life but this time my own laptop died😂.
Funny enough this one is a bit tough on me.
It doesn't turn on (most of the time).
                    Model: Lenovo y520-15ikbm (NM-391).

The only way to make it turn on is:
                    1) unplug battery + charger + rtc (seems irrelevant)
                    2) wait a minute
                    3) plug battery/charger in
                    4) on charger plugin, laptop turns on by itself. On battery plugin you have to press power button. Sometimes nothing happens and you have to try again.
                    5) when it turns on it also displays POST...

                    Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ITL6 doesn't start
                    by Victor Petrovich
I have laptop Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ITL6 with Intel Core i3-1115G4. When I press the start button, LED light on the start button starts blinking 12 times, then stops and after some time starts blinking 12 times again. When it stops, all voltages are down.

                    The motherboard is HS460 HS560 HS760 NM-D471 Rev: 2.0
                    S/N: PF3Q0WTF

The motherboard is not mine, also there were corrosion on the board which I cleaned.

Methods of fixing like fully turning off the motherboard or starting only with adapter doesn't work. All testing were did only with adapter on.

                    ASRock B560 Pro4 doesn't start
                    by johnnys25s
                    Hy there.
I have a ASRock b560 Pro4 MoBo that doesn't power up anymore after CPU swap. I used (my) CPU to test another (broken) board and after put it back, my board doesn't start. I've tested that CPU again but it's ok. I even bought another one for testing. I also have 2 PSU for tests. NO bent pins and no mechanical damage.
I have different voltages on the board (in some places) but it doesn't start, at all.
I have the schematic but I don't know what to do exactly with it. I have some skills and I can measure things. I need help to try to repair it. Thank you.

                    Hello from France

My daughter spill some water on her laptop... Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15ACH6, and she doesn't seen anything wrong after just remove the water with towel.

Then, later the laptop won't start anymore.

I've made a basic troubleshoot with my own laptop (same series)

So, the computer battery is totaly out. With my battery, the computer works !

But, with PSU connected, the latptop detect the power.. the harware led white is on, the amber one too and on the screen there is a 'batt charging' message.

                    But...
