HP Pavillion 15 DAG34AMB6D0 REV D super IO flashing

    Hi guys

Working on this machine, initially no power. There was a short on super io - replaced it with blank ITE8987E . Now there is a white charging light, fan spin but no dispaly.

In this model, does the super io autoflash when the machine is switched on? I've tried another bios but the same issue.

I've seen Piernovs youtube video, How-to flash ITE8987E with RT809F + PEB-1. Is this the best one to use if I need to flash the IO?

    Thanks

Never replaced kbc on this model so far-so cant confirm whether it will flash automatically on first boot or not. On some model it does and in some it doesnt. maybe, others can give you a concrete answer. SVOD is my preference for flashing kbc.

The board I show (Y11A) does in fact get programmed automatically if it's blank. When you first connect AC adapter after soldering the new chip, it should turn on automatically with fan at full speed for a short while, then shut off once the flash is complete. I don't remember if it turns back on automatically after.

      No idea for G34A.

There are also SVOD and Vertyanov programmers to program EC, but I don't have them.

I don't know why, but often on these machines I have to try many bios before finding the right one

Always flash hp virgin bios to avoid this sort of confusion

thanks for your input guys, I've ordered a Vertyanov programmer just waiting for it to arrive. I'll update when it coms, in the meantime I've tried lots of different bios from different places. If I get a bios from the hp site do I need to compile to bin? Sorry a novice when it comes to bios flashing.
