    2011 macbook air 3 beeps

I everyone I have a 2011 macbook air 820-3023 it was giving giving 3 beeps and wont boot. I reset SMC and PRAM. nothing was working so I reflowed the ram chips. after reinstalling the board it powered up, screen came on and I got a chime then it powered off.

now it wont power on and I am getting a dim green light on charger. after cheacking the board Q5310 was getting hot. I replaced that but it still gets hot.
with Q5310 pulled pin's 4,5,6 are getting 16.6v pin 2 seems to be getting 0.6v
Resistors R5311, R5312 test good. C6905 also test's good. no short to ground on Q5310. Don't know were to go next.

    Thanks

820-3023 RAM beeps = lost cause, it'll come back.
As for Q5310, there is no reason for it to get hot, except if there is a solder bridge somewhere maybe.

3 beep sould be ram problem very common on macbook air. i have a continuous beeping macbook and its not ram but i suppose pch or cpu.

try a reflow on the ram.

Re: 2011 macbook air 3 beeps

The MBP 13" 2011 (820-2936) is ok, sometimes the RAM slot closest to keyboard still fails though.
The MBA 11" 2011 (820-3024) usually doesn't get the RAM issue either.

The issue with reflowing the RAM on the MBA 13" 2011 is that it may make it work again for a short time, but it'll fail again soon enough. The root cause hasn't been identified. Reballing or replacing the RAM chips doesn't help. Maybe bad CPU, maybe bad trace.

EDIT: you can check joesipaq on Youtube/Twitch where he replaces the RAM chips one time, the Macbook comes back with 3 beeps again, replaces RAM chips a second time and it still beeps. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeZ...jrlqiTQ/videos

            MacBook Air 2011 13" >820-3023 A< no power (PLT_RESET_L missing)

            Dear community,
this is my very first post, I am quite new to macbook repairs, and I am excited:-)

I have a 2011 MacBook Air 13' that does not power on. No fan spin, nothing.

            Here are the specs:

            MacBook Air Mid-2011
            CPU: 1.7 GHz Core i5 (I5-2557M)
            Model: A1369 (EMC 2469)
            RAM: 4 GB
            VRAM: 384 MB

            The first question:
Unfortunately, it came with a 'fake' power adapter which seems not to talk to the computer. Sometimes it does show green light immediately after connecting it to the board,...

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
            by envym
            Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

Macbook pro 15" 820-2915-B 2011 A1286 boot on but black screen
            by resistor83
Hi everyone, I have this 2011 MacBook Pro 15" model 820-2915-B which has a problem.
I turn it on, the startup sound is heard but the screen doesn't turn on, not even the backlight. The keyboard lights up after a while and the capslock works. If I press any key I can hear sounds as if the system is booting.

I thought it was a screen problem but after changing it the problem remains.

            What could I do?

MacBook Pro 2011 turns on with keyboard light , screen dead
            by Rav_tangle
Hi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .
            is this...
