the regulator pu401 from lenovo g50-45 is broken but i dont have the same, now i have this pu401 from lenovo g405 isnt the same but it funcion is similar in its model.

can someone tell me if the g405 regulator works on g50-45? thanks.

Pin No 3 functionality is different for both chips. So less likely to work

PU401, MOTHERBOARD DA0G3DMBCE0 REV:E

Hi Hi.
Can you help me? The boardview of the DA0G3DMBCE0 REV:E motherboard says that the PU401 IC is a MP86903C...however this is a TQFN21. The PU401 is a TQFN13 and the MP86901-AGQT-Z IC is TQFN13.
Am I correct? Or is it a different IC?
I would appreciate an answer.

Trying to learn electronics repair as a hobby. Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?

When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor.So I visited local electronics shop,and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.

Opinions/Advice on Do/Should I replace ALL Electrolytic Capacitors on old equipment?

I've just been repairing some (very) old speakers with a loud hum that occurred as soon as you powered them on regardless if any actual audio is played through them. I work in a School so it's 99% likey that the Teachers have hardly ever turned the power off on them for well over 10+ years.

As you can see the top large capacitor on the right has a bulge on the top so defincately needs replacing. As the one next to it is exactly the same capacity and voltage I planned to replace them both.

What is your advice/opinion on whether or not on old(er)...
