    Macbook Air 820-3437 - Random Re-boots

    Hi all,

Got a Macbook Air 820-3437. Had liquid damage and has had quite a lot of repair work done on it to get it where it is now.

It now passes everything in ASD and boots to the OS, all be it a little slowly, the loading bar on boot takes a few seconds and usually stalls at about 60%. Once in the OS everything is normal, computer runs as fast as ever and CPU idles at around 40 degrees C.

After about 20-30 minutes the computer will turn off and immediately restart. Sometimes the "your computer turned off because of an issue" message pops up, sometimes it does not. Occasionally it restarts a few times in a loop before getting to the OS.

Any help with what I can do to attempt to diagnose this issue would be much appreciated!

Tried another SSD? (or external drive with macOS on it)

Otherwise, not sure but could be ME region issue. Was the EFI messed with?
Try to run Memtest too, you never know.

I haven't got another SSD unfortunately. Just tested it using ASD on a USB stick, selected all tests and let it run, it rebooted during that as well, twice in a row.

The EFI is untouched and I just tried running memtest, computer shuts down before it has time to finish!

For anyone looking for a solution to a similar problem, this ended up being solved by the ultrasonic cleaner. I'm assuming it was corrosion under the SMC as suggested on another forum.

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
          by envym
          Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

A1989 EMC3214 can't boot to USB drives due to T2 but SSD can't be initialized and Macbook freezes then reboots in recovery
          by MullySculder
Hey folks, I'm working a 2018 13" Macbook Pro that I can't get to install an OS on.

This was given to me by a friend who told me I could have it, if I fixed it.

I've noticed a couple of dents on the laptop case and the touch bar doesn't have any activity lights when first turning on. When I boot up the machine, it gives a folder with a question mark. When I do eventually get to internet recovery with High Sierra, I can go to Disk Utility but I'll get errors when I try to erase the 512GB SSD. First Aid comes back with no issues. But if you linger too long on anything,...

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
          by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
          • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
            • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
          • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
            • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
          • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)

Macbook Pro 13" M1 Reboots every 30 seconds
          by roxboy1984
          Hi,

I wonder if anyone can assist. I have a macbook pro 13" M1 that had some liquid spilled on it. I have taken everything apart and cleaned with Isopryl and now the machine turns on but after about 30 seconds it will just shut off and start again. There is generally a pink screen that flashes just before it reboots.

Anyone perhaps have any suggestions on what i can test or might need to replace?...
