    Okay, ordered it from China, will arrive until the 18th at the soonest. Will be a long wait. Will let you know when it's here.

      I replaced the part but no change. Pretty sure I soldered it properly too.

      I still don't have some of the vital signs we talked about. PCH is not being taken out of reset, RSMRST isn't going high. DNBSWON does not go down when I push power.

      I will go through the check list again tomorrow but in the meantime do you have any other ideas of what I could check?

      One thing I did discover is that the hall effect sensor looks to be shorted, when i put a magnet on it the state of the output will not change. I took it out of circuit and I'd like to hard wire it to be in the state it's in whenever the cover is open. Should it be high or low for it to be as if the laptop is open?

        The general rule with the lid switch signal is that an active state means the switch is being activated by the magnet (i.e. the lid is closed). Since the signal is named LID_EC# (with a '#'), the active state is 0 volts. Therefore, lid closed = 0 volts, and lid open = 3.3 volts.

        Worth checking.

        I'll have to think about other possibilities. After I've had sleep. heh
