    Gigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD graphic card repair

    Hello.
Have this Gigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD graphic card that not work and give a bad smell when in PC. i remove all main coils and have 0.3ohm on GPU side. no short on mosfets side. But when i inject 1V 5A to that 1.1ohm side the only thing that heats is GPU

Do u thing that GPU is burned?
Does anybody know what max voltage i can inject to this side?

    1v and under.
There are gpu phase and.memory phase.
    Make a picture
Just cook it! It's already broken.

short is on GPU phase but now i dont have PSU that gives more than 5A so i can give max 5W

removed coils and caps to locate short

        Memory coil too.
        The ground it's the same.
Memory goes to gpu. if gpu shorted memory too?
I don't know this to.much but try to be sure.
Ohm resistance after on gpu phase then memory.

i think i removed 4coils on GPU phase. where do u think is a memory phase?

What resistence you have on coil pads?
Memory phase its on the other side of gpu.
Less coils. Not the one behind.
Holding the video card in front of you with pcie connector down on the left side of bag the coils are for memory(90%)
              Right side gpu phase.
              Check the ohms on all.

no short on that side. even on right side is one coil with two caps that is not on short/on picture still not removed/

on gpu phase with removed coils and caps/on picture/ is resistance 1,3ohm

right on GPU IC is no small caps on short, but found that 1,3ohm short on small caps on the other side of board under the GPU IC

                  0.3ohm, 1.1ohm, 1.3ohm? I'm confused.
1.3ohm sometimes is fine on a GPU. 0.3 is definitely a short.

i was wrong about power of this card. it is even weaker that card i bought for 25euros

i dont care about it and remove GPU ic and short is gone

so i think the GPU was burn because all caps on it was without short

Ok now without bga start the card and measure all the coils and report back the voltage.
Off clean the pads and prepare the board if you receive a bga chip donor.
This the thing I will do in the near future. I have like 30 gpus like this.

found great channel from guy who really show nice repair of graphic cards and prove that this ATI cards have mostly burned GPU, which is common problem on this cars

                              Hi,

I discovered a strange behaviour of GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2 board.

                              General test conditions:
                              - Tested with Core i5 6500 and Core I7 6700K - no difference
                              - Default BIOS settings, but tried also altering several memory setting - does not change anything

                              What is wrong:

With BIOS F1 and F2 the board normally POST's and boots to Windows 11 with 2 x Patriot Viper Steel PVS416G440C9K RAM (4400MHZ, Samsung B-Die chips)

When BIOS upgraded to anything above F2 (ie. F20-F27b) the board POST stucks after 3 Debug Codes on Code C2

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
                              by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

                              What Ive done........

More eBay specials: this time a Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU for $8 with free S&H. Listed “For part/not working”, as usual. Showed up in a beat up EVGA box without any padding… but that's understandable given the total price. PSU made it out fine without damage. It's a non-modular (yay!), pretty modern-day looking PSU with a black paint and all black cables (meh, not my favorite, but figure it's good to keep a few of these in case I do need one for a more modern PC build, just so my old gray boxes don't look too odd in there.)

And a shot of the label:...
