    BQ735/BQ24735 on asus X455LD

does anyone can explain how this chip works on X455LD Rev. 2.1? ACFET & RBFET won't turned on when plugged in adapter, changed parts:
    - BQ735 (BQ24735)
    - ACFET Mosfet
    - RBFET Mosfet
    - Both mosfet on battery charging side

ACDET pin @2.87v, ACOK, ACDRV & BATDRV pin @0v. no shorted components, no blown fuses on the mainboard & no broken trace in circuit

ACDET@2.87 AND ACOK@0V -Is ok as far as i understand but acdrv and batdrv @0v is wrong. ACDRV should be 19v+6v approx. So that does mean gate of acfet not opening. What about pin16(regn)?? Are you getting 6v there??

      thank's for replying...
      yes, pin 16 is 6v & pin 17 is 1.05v

i did before i open this thread, hoping the master brain power can explain better for this uneducated brain than what it said on datasheet

what i wanted to know is, when does ACFET & RBFET turned on to allow 19v to system? because i can't find the "EN" pin on this ic

Hi @kodox, did you figure out what was the problem? I'm having the same issue with an asus n550jv board, replaced mosfets and bq735 but still don't work.

Check surrounding resistors around BQ735 if they read their correct values. An idea of their expected values is in the image attached.

ACOK on the BQ24735 should be active High, therefore probably at 3V.

I can only solve this kind of issue by bypassing the mosfet, I still dont know why is that acdrive is missing

you bro.. andito ka rin pala... if acdrv is missing try to replace a new one.. if not fix.. try isolate those resistor nearby..

i also meet the same issue.
I found out that bad BQ735 could resulting the 19v mosfet not allowing the vin to be delivered.
change more than 1 BQ735 just to make sure the replacement is good. I managed to change twice until it worked. I threw right away the new but not good BQ, well we don't know wether the BQ we bought is good or not, new or refurbished.

                        Asus X555DG and BQ735
                        by reformatt
Had a curly one on a BQ735 battery controller and an Asus X555DG motherboard and thought I'd share the fix.

Board not powering on, no 19V past the first input FET PQ8801 (ACFET in the datasheet). All FET's around the BQ735 all measured ok and no obvious signs of corrosion. Board boots fine if this first FET is bypassed, however no battery charging in this event.

ACDET, ACOK, VCC etc all ok on the BQ735. PQ8801's input gate is being driven off ACDRV, with source for that being CMSRC. Note that CMSRC is on the source of the FET, and ACDRV drives the gate. So initially for...

                        BQ24735 - faulty?
                        by Jane
Can you please give your opinion on this matter?

Laptop does not work. I checked voltages of charging circuit BQ24735 .

                        Values are :

                        pin 20: VCC 19V

                        pin 6: ACDET > 2.4V

                        pin 16: REGN 6V

                        pin 5: ACOK 2.62V

Are these values correct and (if BQ24735 is working in the correct way)

ACDRV (pin 4) should have more than 19V?

Or I must check any other values to be sure to decide that BQ24735 is faulty?

AS I have ACDRV about zero, so I guess BQ24735...

Problem Flashing Macronix MX25L6445E BIOS Chip with CH341A and EZP2019+ on ASUS X455LD
                        by pengamat_hebat
                        Hello everyone,

I'm trying to flash the BIOS chip Macronix MX25L6445E from my ASUS X455LD laptop using both a CH341A and an EZP2019+ programmer, but I keep encountering issues.

Reading the chip works perfectly, and I can extract the BIOS dump without any problems.

However, erasing and writing fail every time, regardless of the software I use. (Neo, asprog, ch341, etc)

I also tried applying 3.3V to pin 3, but it still didn't work.

I attempted to unprotect the chip, but when I read it back, the registers remained unchanged.
