    Dell Latitutde D620 Power Issue

    please i need help urgently,i have dell latitude D620 when you switch the power the laptop comes on for 30 seconds without display and goes off,after checking the board,when i switch the power on i hear a sound on the board.

    when i put in the power and make my checks everything looks okay,but when you switch power on,the sound comes and power goes off within 30 seconds.

    please can someone help me on what to do.

          This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

          Specs

          i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

          Backstory

          I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

          A few months out of warranty and it's dead as a fart. XPS 8950 with a 12th Gen I5, 32gb DDR5 RAM and a GTX1650 GPU.....

          Symptoms it's giving are really making a coin toss between bad motherboard and bad PSU....I'm leaning toward motherboard, but there are some strange irregularities with this piece of shit system.

          Basic test:
          Upon connecting power cord, system powers on by itself (no button push) for a second then powers down...and then powers back on again, I hear a relay trip inside the PSU, and then powers down again and that's it. It won't do anything else....

          Hello, I have the similar problem. My Dell Precision 7520 doesn't turn on with only battery. Below are the various scenarios and its symptoms

          1. With only battery, the laptop turns on but no display and shuts down after few seconds

          2. With battery and charger plugged in, the battery light comes on. But pressing the power button does nothing and laptop refuses to turn on. However, the battery led light blinks every 17seconds from when the charger is plugged in with or without battery. So whether the battery is inserted or not, the battery led light will turn when charger...

          Hello, I got a unit which is having a problem of no power on using power button,
          It powers on when I remove the CMOS batt then display is ok but when I shutdown it by long pressing the power button it turns off but when I turn it on using the power button no reaction at all.
          I already tried to reflash the bios and Clean ME but no effect,
          I also check the RTC section and it is the reading I got
          SRTCRST# ok
          PCH_RTCRST# ok
          +3.3V_PRTC ok
          PCH_INTRUDER_HDR# ok


          POWER_SW_IN# ok
          DOCK_PWR_SW# ok
          TDOCK_PWR_BTN# ok
          POA_WAKE# ok...

          hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

          Ill try and give as much info as I can.

          Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
          Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
          Bios: 1.9.0

          When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
          Then it started getting weirder!
          Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...
