Macbook Pro A1502 - Random restart

    Hi

I've a Macbook Pro 13" a1502. Can work fine form some hours, then restart by itself.

I've tried to rework the chipset (same BGA for chipset, GPU and CPU). No solved.

Apple test told me about a Ram problem, but the ram are solded on board. I think it's an hard job to replace all the ram (16 chips)..

It's there a system or a software to find the bad chip?

    many thanks for your help

    Luca

You may be able to access a potentially rudimentary diagnostic test by holding D while the computer boots. The level of diagnostics changes based on the year of the computer, but that may be able to help. I am unsure if it will tell you which specific chip, or merely confirm that that it's a RAM problem, but there it is!

There is a known issue with the 820-3662 (and another model number, can't remember on top of my head) board. Check the logic board number.
The root cause of this issue still hasn't been found but a workaround is to lightly load the CPU all the time (people use an infinite loop inside a python script for example).
Your issue may or may not be related.

If you think this is a RAM issue, run a memtest86+ off of a USB key. If it shows no error after a couple of hours, your issue is most likely not related to the RAM.
