    UX31e loading problem?

    Hi,

I have a Asus UX31e and when I put the charger in it it does not load. It does see that the charger is in but not loading. Also, there is a new battery in it wich works.

So this made me believe that a chip (charging chip?) is faulty but I don't know which one it is. So I have schematics but I can't understand it. I will put these schematics up and hope someone can help me with this problem.

    Greetz,

    Hi
Its Page 88 chip is PU8800 you must messure all voltages only with battery and then
    battery + charger

The schematic is for a different board. I think the real schematic isn't available. That's why sites give/sell that one instead. It is very similar. But it has a lot of differences too. For example, the board in the schematic uses a completely different charging chip with fewer pins.

The charger IC on your actual board is a 28-pin Texas Instruments BQ24740.

      Some questions:

What revision is your board? (e.g. "Rev. 3.0")

When you say "does not load" do you mean the battery does not charge? or do you mean the computer does not start up?

What happens if only the battery is connected? What if only the AC adapter is connected?

Measure the voltages on all pins of BATFET and the charger IC. Do it with the board turned off, and connect both the battery and the AC adapter. It may be helpful if you repeat the measurements with just the battery connected, like mielta said. Forum replies take time. It's better to measure too much than to measure too little.

If the computer won't start up, then measure ACFET and RBFET also. Otherwise, don't worry about them.

Also, be very careful measuring the small pins on the charger IC. A "needle" style probe tip is recommended. Accidentally shorting two pins together with the probe can damage the board.

That was my mistake with words. I had to use the word charging instead of loading. So it's a charging problem.

It does work with a battery that is charged (I have 2 of the same laptops so I load the one with the other) but when you put in the charger it does not charge. You do see that it is plugged in.

Thanks for the tips and I will try to look for the chip that is responsble for charging the laptop. Thanks!

Okay, that's good. It's very helpful to know it's a revision 3.2 board. Just let us know your measurements when you're done and we'll go from there.

It sounded like you probably meant "charge" but I just had to make sure :P

              Laptop Question
              Hello,
I'm working on a Lenovo T460 that has been having trouble charging as of late. Its worked well since I've owned it for a few years. When I went to use it the other day it was dead and wouldn't turn on (was sitting on an Anker 65W GaN charger). After some fiddling with the charger I got it to turn on and start charging, but seemed like the charger was not working as it should (took a few plug and unplug cycles to get it to start charging).

A day later it was dead again and wouldn't boot/charge no matter what I did. No lights or anything when...

Hello everyone, I wish you a happy day.

I have a Dell Latitude 7480 laptop that has a problem with freezing during the Windows loading process. If it manages to boot up, it becomes very slow and doesn't load anything from the desktop.

The attempts that have been made to solve the problem have not yielded any results.

I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
              1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
              2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.

The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)
charger or a Narrow VDC (NVDC) charger, supporting 2-, 3-, or
4-cell batteries. Both configurations allow the battery to work with
the adapter together to supply the system load when it exceeds
the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB
charger configuration reverse-boosts battery energy to the system
bus to help the adapter provide the system power in Turbo mode.

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
              by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...
