x453ma motherboard, turns on and off inmediatly

Hello everyone,

I have this board, x453ma rev 2.0

Power LED turns on and off inmediatly after pressing power button.

I measured all the voltage on UP1589Q, attached image.
How may I know if this IC is ok?

No voltage (3.3v, 5v) on output coils.


Any help or tips on this is very much appreciated.

check voltage on pin 11 ,if not persist , fallow to the source

if exist , found jumpers on motherboard and take out contact to the 3,3 v and 5v . If something have short circuit , after jumpers take out , u will have both voltage .also check all usb input , probably is broken inside and make short circuit inside connector , also check HDMI connector for same reason

I do not have the schematics. I found a repair guide on internet, but don't know how to use it.

Voltage on pin 11 is 19.4v, stable 19.4v

What do you mean by "jumpers on motherboard and take out contact to the 3,3v and 5v"?

I haven't been able to find any short, USB ports and HDMI ports look in very good conditions

From the voltages you have taken on the UP1589Q, two signals are not good ENTRIP1 and ENTRIP2 must be lower than 4.5V to activate channels 1 and 2. If they are higher than 4.5V, channels 1 and 2 do not work. If you look at the repair guide on page 2, you have two signals controlling the UP1589Q, 5VSUS_ON and 3VSUS_ON, these two signals control ENTRIP1 and ENTRIP2 with two transistors in a single 6-pin package, you will find this chip near the UP1589Q, maybe you'll see the K1 mark on it. Measure all the voltages of this chip.

I tried to follow the Repair Guide.

The charger is pluged-in, no charging light, now power on, power button has 3.3v, 0v when power button pressed.

steps:
1.Pr8806 AC_BAT_SYS = 19.4v
2 PSL8100 +5VA = 4.98v
3 PSL8101 +3VA = 3.27v
4.R3042 AC_IN_OC# = 0v
5 SL3005 +3VA_EC = 0v
6 D3204 EC_RST = 0v
7.PQ8108 +5VSUS_ON = 0v
8 PQ8108 +3VSUS_ON = 0v

Could it be the ITE IC? how may I properly check it?

Check short circuit on 3vsus and 5vsus line.

+3va_ec is zero-means ec is not getting power. So ec will not work. Look for shorting in 3va ec line. Might be sio itself is bad.

Check short circuit on 3vsus and 5vsus line.

I desoldered PL8101 and was able to get 3V in 3VA_EC and EC_RST.

Found that AC_IN_OC# is 0v

CHG_ACOK_r_10 is 3v.

Changed PR8829 for another 100kohm resistor, no difference.

Removed PQ8810, now AC_IN_OC# is 3.3v

+3VA_EC is 3.3v
EC_RST is 3.3v
