    820-2915-B Trackpad / Keyboard Woes

Got a 2011 Macbook Pro 15" here with a dead trackpad and keyboard. Looking for the trackpad schematics (for the flex cable) and cannot do much till then.

Basically, this was working well last night except the Enter, N, Y, and 6 keys did not respond. I tried new working keyboards and they had the same problem, so I knew it was the mobo. HOWEVER, I uplugged the trackpad while the system was running (like an idiot!) and plugged it back in and then saw the magic smoke I don't know where the smoke came from though.

Now it won't detect the keyboard at all. Q: Does the keyboard never get detected if the trackpad is bad??

I don't want to repair U5701 unless absolutely necessary as its wedged between both connectors which will likely melt and need replacing too :/

    So far:
    3V3_S4 - 3.3V
    3V42_G3H - 3.4V
    TPAD_VBUS_EN - 3.3V
PP18V5_S4 - 5V (seems low but a working machine shows this)
    Z2_BOOST_EN - 3.3V

should I go poking around for clock signals? Help!

    Thanks

Replacing CY8C24794 (U7501) did the trick (PSOC USB controller). Holy hell was that not a fun job though. It took me a while before realizing the heatsink on the back had to be removed because it was sucking away all the heat from the GND plane under U7501. Eventually I said "screw it!" and drilled a hole into the center of the chip so I could reach the ground pad. I couldnt remove it otherwise, even after 10minutes + on direct 450 degree heat from a quality reflow station.

    Works now tho, so yay!

Hi. I made the same mistake and need to replace CY8C24794.
Data sheets on google says it’s programmable. Did you need to do anything to make it work or did you simply buy the chip, fit it and it worked ?

Take it from a donor board.
