    New N12E-GE2-A1 laptop wont install driver

    Hello, I have an Medion MD98760 with NVidia GeForce GT555M that some times give image some times not, some times random colors and turns off. GPU VCORE was 2ohm to 0ohm.
    Chip is Nvidia N12E-GE2-A1.

    When I replaced the chip with a new one N12E-GE2-A1 VCORE is still 2ohm but laptop does not turn off and installs and boots into windows.
    But now i can not install graphics drivers as the installers do not recognize the chip.

    The chip responds as : PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DC8&SUBSYS_10E717C0&REV_A1

    I have tried reballing it incase it had bad solder balls but the problem persists.
    Is this a video BIOS problem??

    Please help. This is the BIOS file:

    check if you have power after mosfet which switch power for GPU.sometimes if GPU die, die also this mosfet..

          Compare datecode between the old and the new chip.
          Something is fishy there, the device id is not listed as a known ID there : https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/10de
          It would be wise to check the NVidia driver INF file to see if the device ID is listed in here.

            @Ktmmotocross

            The chip behaved the same with its own balls it came with from the factory, and it behaved the same again after re-balling it with fresh leaded balls.
            We have over 100 successfully serviced boards with care via re-balling because of that we are solid it is not an error on our end.

            @piernov

            NVidia driver installer does not detect it nor does manually installing by INF make windows install it correctly.
            Windows accepts it as an GT555M , GT540M and GT635M when manually forced but it always reports error code 43 after restart.

            If this is an faulty chip i need to make sure because only than I am able to file a complain and return it.

              What if you let nvidia search your hardware and install the appropriate driver; 0DC8 is NVIDIA Quadro 2000. I think you must have a word with your supplier.

                Same happens with Quadro 2000M drivers, and NVidia Auto detect does not detect the graphics card.
                I guessed its an unknown device as soon as google did not give me anything for the full name, id, of the card.

                I just don´t know if this can be caused by an old or maybe even bad Video BIOS or some other thing outdated in the System BIOS so I can say for sure it is an defective chip.

                  Can't find the device id in the NVidia drivers so that's why they won't install. You may have got an engineering sample chip or something like that…
                  I don't think the chip itself is defective, I don't think there is an issue with the BIOS either. Try to replace it with another new and genuine chip.

                    if not cracked solder ball under chip, because of your flawless reballing

                    it must be ball between ic and substrate
