A1278 MBP 820-3115-B powers up no chime

Hi. got this macbook trying to repair and for last 2 days is sending me mad. Anyway it has been liquid damadged and after ultrasonic clean is now powering on with no chime. all around cpu i get short to ground.L7510,L7520,L7550,L7630,L7100 etc
I have checked for bad traces and damadged components but nothing visual.
Q7510,Q7520 gets 12v on pin 2 but pin 3 and 4 are shorted, would them 2 be the problem?
    Any help? Thanks

    Hey!

Check if CPU or Northbridge get hot?
    Check the RTC clock gen!
    Check SMC or BIOS!

I have a similar problem,, I have a dim green light on the magsafe, fans spin immediately after plugging it in and I can turn it OFF by holding the button. Going to check PPBUS_G3H when I get home for short to power, but where could that happen, within the CPU?

Xbox 360 S - power chime, then powers off
          by survivalbloke
I have a 360 S here. I have a solid amber light on the PSU. If I press the power button, I get a chime and fan spins up, PSU LED turns green, then the unit immediately powers down.

          What should be first steps?

Macbook A1278 - 820-3115-B no chime, no display
          by johnbeton
          Hello,

Currently I'm working on a Macbook A1278 with 820-3115-B board.
This notebook had some liquid damage between U7400 and U4900.

At first the laptop had no green light, and didn't power on, after cleaning the liquid damage, I replaced R7402 ad R7403 because they where out of spec.

Now the green light comes on, as soon as the charger is connected the fan start spinning, after 10 seconds it starts spinning harder.

USB light goes on. But still nog chime or display.

I checked voltages up untill ALL_SYS_PWRGD, seems...

Macbook A1398 - no startup chime, no boot, but have fans and CPU warm
          by survivalbloke
Macbook A1398 - had repeating loop of startup chime with no actual boot. Just startup chime, then restart, start up chime, then restart, etc. I pulled the battery and cleared BIOS. It will now power up, fans on, CPU warming, but no startup chime and no boot. I reflashed the BIOS chip but the same thing happening. Where should I go from here?

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 [GH51G mb] powers on, no vcc_core

          Hello all,

I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:

          Intro:

This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.

Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,...

Subject: Help Needed: MacBook A1278 (3115) No PPBUS_G3H Issue

          Hello everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook A1278 with the 3115 logic board and facing an issue with no PPBUS_G3H voltage. Here's what I've checked so far:
          1. U7000 Measurements:
            • Pin 3 has 0V, even though R7012 shows 16.5V from PPDCIN_S5_CHGR.
          2. Resistors:
            • I measured R7010 and R7011 with one leg disconnected, and both tested OK.

Based on these findings, I believe U7000 needs to be replaced. However, I have a related question:
          • If I also decide to replace the SMC, do I need to order it pre-programmed,
          ...
