See post # 3 - locate the EC with 'ENE' markings. Will be a large square IC. Locate the silver / metal cased oscillator or crystal that should be nearby. Post pics if not sure.
5 slow and 3 fast blinks indicate a processor power failure, such as VCC-core or GT-core. In my case, I had an EPK50 LA-G07EP Rev:2 motherboard with this issue. I found that PUZ2 and PQZ1 were faulty. After replacing these SMD components, the motherboard came back to life
