This is not bad. It good be improved by having the step by step procedure written down so it could be downloaded in any languish and the student could follow step by step as you were doing it on video.Comment

by AcnologiaHere is a pretty crazy one.
Step 1.
Laptop was brought to me as dead not working. Removed everything , cleared everything.
Step 2.
Some liquid damage close to the Type - C connector, and the connector even though it was cleaned wasn't charging the battery . Removed the Type-C port, and replaced it. Now the laptop turns on and charges battery. Shows external screen , not internal.
Step 3.
Took out the screen and checked it to a secondary Gen 2 i have, screen works like a charm.
Step 4.

by thumper69We use a laptop to connect to an omron CPM2A serial port for programming and data transfer. Using a usb to serial adaptor and a blackbox connecting cable. The operator of the equipment had a failed ac power plug that powers the plc and changed it reversing the hot and neutral lines. the result was when connecting the plc to laptop it blew out adapter, plc, and laptop. apparently it sent 115 volt ac via ground into usb port of laptop. Laptop appears to try and power up but shuts down after a few seconds. Any repair possible or do i need new motherboard.

by tk3000My venerable and old laptop (Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 equipped with an i7-4700MQ, circa 2014) and previously a powerful machine during its heyday is no more. Have been using it for many years, but about 3 months ago it went kaputt for no apparent reason (left it on overnight [normally it goes to standby mode after some idle time], and in the morning it was cold dead with no boot, no post, no leds; nothing at all).
Since the 1990s I have been building custom desktop computers, etc; but it has been few years since my last built one and for the last 15 years I have built very few... -
by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -
by jamespI have a dead laptop with mainboard model GS452/552/752 nm-c781 rev 1.0, i have initiated troubleshooting with the use of digital multimeter. checked voltage signals up to PM_SLP_S3#, found out that before PM_SLP_S3# signal , a PBTN_OUT#_R signal has 3.2 volt state and after pressing power on, PBTN_OUT#, It drops to logic level zero for around 12 secs and then back again to 3.2v for 6 secs. it will loop like that until you pulled out the adapter power. during loop the PM_SLP_S3 and S4 SIGNAL has no output. (0 volt ) may i ask for help to anyone with this kind of board and same kind of problem....1 Photo
