Hp 17-E140NF No Power No charging

    Hello,
This laptop is not turning on, only signs of life is the led on the power jack that blinks 3 times when i press power.
Not also charging, i have 3.3V on Bios and power switch.
I have tried 2 Dumps, but no change.

    Laptop Model : HP 17-E140NF
    Motherboard : DA0R75MB6C1 REV C

Can anyone post boardview and/or schematics ?

But if this page is about the blinking error codes, this is not good, cause my problem is not related with "Caps Lock" or Num Lock" Leds, but the led atached to the power jack input.

Could this problem be related with PU4 (BQ24728) shown on page 34 ?
I don't know which voltages need to be correct (Pin), that's why normaly with boardview is easier.

The web document opens for me no problem I will see if I can download it. No this is not just about the number key. This actually tell you which number of blinks indicate what error. 3 blink indicate problem with Ram. This attachment is the best I could do copying the HP doc.

                Thanks buddy,
yes, i know that 3 blinks means ram error, but again this is with cap's lock and/or Num Lock leds, nothing about the led near the power connector.
Anyway, tested 4 different ram's, same result.
since the laptop also doesn't charge, maybe a problem on the power circuit ?

Ok, the procedure that I gave you did you follow the other basic steps of powering down, removing the battery, holding down on the power button for whatever time they specify? and then only using the power cord to power up and not installing the battery? This symptom I have seen before. What I think is happening is the computer is stuck in a error loop. If the power options for the battery and the corded power are set so they shut the machine down at a certain levels somehow the software gets stuck in this error loop. I had to disassemble the laptop to get down to the RTC battery and remove that with all other power removed. When I assembled everything back together except the laptop battery I power up and the computer was out of this error loop and powered all the way up to the Windows operating system. I then powered down put the battery in and everything was fine and the computer charged. I am not saying it is 100% this problem. The same symptoms can have different causes. Also, if the ram is not installed correctly you will not have a screen display. Many people who are in the industry of refurbishing these computers just do not know the ram has little clips on the side that need to click in place and if the ram is even on a slight angle to the connector then it is not installed correctly. These things I have mentioned I would do first before trying to troubleshoot the hardware. If you have done all those things then we can look at the hardware.

I really apreciate your time and kindness, buddy.
But this is not my first HP ...
Anyway, all the advices above (and others) were made before i've opened the thread .
I still have a concern about those new power jacks inputs (3mm), i'm using a bench psu soldered directly to mobo.
Maybe this can cause a bug, i don't know cause this is the first time i deal with this new tinny connectors (with a protection against cloned psu's).
I've ordered an tip adapter to use with the 5mm power jacks (i have a couple of original charger for those).
But when i bought the laptop, the owner used an original psu, and the led never blinked 3 times, only once every time he pressed the power switch.
After reprograming the bios (with dump from web), the behaviour changed, now when pressed on, the power jack led blinks 3 times ...
I guess that i will wait until i received those Sh!ty new power adapters ...

any physical dmg on the original jack?

jack blinks are a different problem than cap/num lock blinks.

Just for giggles, check R460 and R456. Maybe also check R459, C738 and C742. All on page 33 of the schematic. Look for physical damage and then check the values. I had a similar case where AD_ID took 20v and fried the EC (ITE). Along the way, it fried a couple components on the AD_ID line. Board wouldn't power on, gave blinks on the jack. Was the 15 inch model ...

Have you check the bolton FCH ?
try to heat it up to 150 degrees and immediately turn on the machine

Nothing wrong with above, owner always used with the original charger.

This is an 16 months Old Laptop, until now i never see a cracked solder on PCH or other Bga.
I'm conviced that it's a faulty IC or A Short.

Thanks guys, you are always welcome with ideas.
