Hi,
I am seeking tips on mobo repair in beautiful dell xps13 L322x (2012/13). Its a bga IvyBridge with qs77/76? chipset.
Symptomps:
Black screen, not a flash of light. Keyboard light is on, keyboard does not read keys (like FN + turn off Keyb.Light, or caps lock switching)
Stays on, until you switch it off with PWBTN, produces quite a heat and I didnt saw fan spinning since then.
It happened when I was rebooting Ubuntu, and when you expect to see Logo flash there was only black screen. At that momment I had to go away for like 5-10 minutes thinking damm linux, gonna deal with you fucker when I come back. Yea
Tryed so far:
Ive stripped it completedly, cleaned it, put away all cards, disks, repro etc... Still same. Batery only, AC only(got 2 AC adapters), pluged another monitor., putting preassure on chipset, cpu. Unpluging bios battery (~3.1 V). Not a clue.
BIOS code shows: "0." (got that chineese PCI-m code reading card). Pressing FN+PWBTN does not work (i believe it should run dell BEEP diagnostics).
So It ends to two scenarios in my opinion, power issue or chipset/cpu, right? Its wierd chipset is 3,5W with NO heatsing or anything over it! It was coverd only by black tape (to be fancy). Anyway motherboard doesnt have any brown areas (like overheat dmg, or even melted stuff). If I compare it to my Acer mobo, it actualy looks like new. When I opened it first motherboard was untouched (had no reflow/reball imho).
Sooo, how is changing 22x22mm chipset with roughly 1k balls?
Ty for any advices.
