    HP ENVY 15-j151nf audio issue

    Hi,
Friend's HP ENVY 15-j151nf (Windows 10) seems to have an issue with the audio chip.
After some tens of minutes, the laptop stops outputting any sound from either the internal speakers or audio jack. Apparently the mic stops to work too.
Shutting down the PC for a minute then rebooting solves the problem temporarly, until it appears again a bit earlier.
At first I thought it would be an overheating issue but it happens sometimes when the CPU is at ~50°C too.

Could it be the chip itself only which is overheating? Anyone knows which chip/motherboard is in it and has got a schematics?
    Any other idea?

    Thanks,

Thanks a lot for the schematic, I think it's not this one because the 15-j151nf has an NVidia GPU. The audio part may be the same though. I'll check the PCI id.
Datasheet of the audio codec is available, but there is nothing about shutting down the chip or any sort of protection so I've still no clue.
(the issue shouldn't be with the amplifier since the mic stops working too)

I recall the amplifier problem that happens on some Toshiba laptops and that does not seem to be the case with yours. But still, the sound chip could be faulty. Try disabling/enabling in device manager instead of rebooting and see if the sound comes back, that should give some more insight.

Sound doesn't come back after disabling/enabling it. Friend says it may happen when the screen lid is manipulated but I don't think it is related.

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
              by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Dell Latitude 3510 (Intel Core i7-10510U) CPU Overheating

              Issue Description:
              1. CPU Overheating to 100°C
                • When I start the laptop from a cold state, it takes about a minute to reach temps around 80-90-100°C, and CPU thermal throttling triggers.
                • When the CPU fan is running at full speed (by disconnecting PWM and TACH cables), CPU temperature stays around 50-60°C.
                • However, when the fan is connected normally to the motherboard, it does not kick in at high temperatures.
                • I also noticed a few times that the fan kicked in for a very short time, but it does not stay on consistently.

Thomson 50UD6306 (TCL) Backlight Issue, starts then stops, led changed
              by Cornito
              Hello Team,

I'm back with another backlight issue that I thought was simple, but it turned out to be more complex than expected.

Let me provide a brief history: The TV was working well, then one day, the backlight started and shut down. I thought I had an LED issue leading to this behavior, so I replaced the LEDs with brand new ones. However, the issue remains the same.

Next, I replaced the electrolytic capacitors attached to the LED power supply, but the results were the same. I then replaced the driver, a OB3365RP, and did it twice due to the same result....
