[help]dv9740el no backlight after hp logo!!!

    hi, please help me

when i power on, i can see clearly the hp logo then all it's dark.

if i enter into the bios i see it, but very very very dark

if i put an external monitor i can't see the bios, but when windows boot, i can see clearly the operating system on the external screen and use the pc without problem!

another strange thing, soon before windows boot, the arrow point appears for some seconds than disappear

another strange thing: when i disconnect the external monitor, some times the internal monitor power on and i can see clearly!

if i disconnect the battery and the power chord, holding power button and the i reinsert the power chord, i can boot into the bios and see the bios for 2/3 second

i've try another screen and another inverter: still the same

    here's the problem

Re: [help]dv9740el no backlight after hp logo!!!

found the problem! i has bought this "dead" notebook for 10 euros. it was with black screen so i've bought another notebook with perfect screen but dead motherboard. i've changed the screen and got the problem. now i've done some experiment and found that

the old screen with the cable from the "newer" screen, boot up and works flawlessly.the newer screen with the cable of the "old" doesn't boot. so

the old screen with the new cable boot perfect

the new screen with the new cable boot perfect but then i not have backlight

i wondering why the new screen work correctly and if i can be able to fix it

the old screen is b170pw06 v2

    the new is ltn170x2-l02

First, try to disconnect and reconnect the screen cable on both side.
Check the ccfl bulb or inverter.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Samsung UN50NU7400 - No Picture (but boot screen and screensaver)
        by arbitarytwist
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?

Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ?

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
        by smic717394
        Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Surface 7 Pro wont boot, shows Logo and immediately turns off
        by taslan
        Hello everyone,
as stated in the title, my surface 7 pro wont boot anymore.
When i press the power button it shows the square windows logo for a second and immediately turtns off again.
I dont even have a chance to get into bios or boot from usb.
While trying to find help online it was suggested to look for help/repair here on badcaps and it might be a ME Region corruption in bios.
I dont know what that is exactly, but i never tinkered with the bios or windows in terms of hacking/patching etc.
Bought it directly from microsoft and used it now and then and only...

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
        Model No: RC72LA
        Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...
