HP G62 No dispay, to external screen OK

    Hi Guys,

Found this laptop on it's way to the trash.

    HP G62-460SJ

    mainboard: 634649-001

It boots but shows no picture.

I connected it to an external display and it works good.

I tried taking it apart and reconnect everything once more but got the same result.

I tried replacing the screen with a busted one i replaced not long ago and know that it should show at least backlight.

I reflashed the bios to F.37 but it already had that version- it did reflash but changed nothing.

So i have 2 possibilities: the lvds cable from the mainboard to the screen is faulty or the mainboard is bad.

Any tips before i order a board from Aliexpress?

I belive that model has switchable graphics so you should reball nb chipset (not gpu)...known fault with that model...

Before you trash it, cook it for a quick test

yes you should check this first...Also check lvds circuit (lcd vdd,lcd en,bcklt en,etc... )
Well if you dont have proper equipment you can try reflowing with hot air but hmmmm it won`t be good...
                I thought it`s different board ...
If your board is like the one on the picture you posted then try reflowing gpu chip next to the CPU (first bga chip on the left side from cpu...upper one is pch chip)

if its green board like in a pic try removing PU320. thay should disable ati vga completly and use only intel on cpu vga (uma)

i did that on my G62 with board DA0AX1MB6F0 and now it works
                    Im Back... sort of...

                        Sucess!

The LVDS cable arrived today from china, i tested it but got the same simptom.

I had nothing to loose so i decided to reflow the NVIDIA gpu.

250 degrees celsios for 3 min.

                        And i got perfect picture.

thank you all for the help.

                          Hey everyone,

I bought a MacBook A1990 with no screen. I bought it knowing the motherboard was defective but wasn't sure what the problem was until I received it. It actually turns on but as you see from the attachment, it has vertical stripes, on an external screen!!

The board is neat. Not opened before for sure. Just a little dust, nothing more.

Recovery using wifi can be opened, as can also be seen in the photo but it doesn't go all the way through after connecting it to a wifi. It downloads the initial Recovery files but never completes the rest of the...

This device came in due to the screen flickering if you use the touchpad or external mouse. It will flicker black when this occurs. If you use the touchscreen, the behavior does not appear. Also, if connected to external monitor, the external monitor is not affected by the flickering. I did a good amount of research on this, and concluded that it is due to the display driver. HP does not offer Windows 11 drivers for this model so I got the replacement drivers direct from Intel. I installed them and the problem...

I accidentally crushed my laptop screen while lowering my car seat. co-incidentally I had an old screen which got damaged earlier, but was still about 80-85% visible with 4 round black dead pixel blobs about an inch in dia. basically not usable on a regular basis, but it can work for testing.

I tried connecting an external HDMI monitor while loading the bios screen and it worked a couple of times,(VGA did not work) and after a few reboots(laptop also has some power issue and kept shutting down) the power issue was resolved once i connected the battery(was running it directly on power),...

                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
