Re: Asus UX31E missing backlight after replacing LCD

      Hello all,
after searching for hours and finally found solution in my case with no voltage on pin 14 coming from U4501, will post it here, maybe it will help someone someday.

A partially removed (oblique ) LVDS connector on the LCD side was causing the simptom of no LCD backlight on an UX31A. The defect was caused by dropping the laptop.
Reinstalling the connector and replacing the adhesive tape that holds him in place fixed the issue.

What mislead me in the beginning was that U4501 was getting LCD_BACKOFF# signal
on pin 2 instead of LCD_BACKEN on pin 1. I think this was caused by backlight disabling when no load is sensed.

      BR, Alex

Keyboard backlight too bright - Asus Zenbook S16 / UM5606
        by user546087
        Hi,

I have a new Asus Zenbook S16, Model UM5606. Unfortunately, the keyboard backlight is too bright, even on the lowest setting. I have explored several ways now:

        - kindly ask Asus for an adjustment - they basically told me to STFU and get lost It is not possible, they say. Of course.
        - tint the keycaps from behind - I have already tried that - it is kind of a last resort
        - try to find out, how it is done, look at schematics - this is, where we are at.
        - maybe get the BIOS modified somehow? This would be the best option but I do not know a lot about...

Asus X570-P identifying potential missing SMD
        by plummmm
I am trying to identify a potential missing component from an Asus X570-P motherboard. I could not find a boardview for that exact motherboard, but I did find one for the X570-Pro here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...prime-x570-pro

The component missing on my board I believe is a small 3 pin device above the Nuvoton Super IO. The X570-Pro uses a similar Nuvoton and there's a similar looking SMD just...

        Asus G712L No Screen Backlight
        by FallenOne008
Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have run into a problem where my backlight screen is no longer working.

The original screen was beginning to show signs of faultiness. I believe it was part of the inverter board that was going bad. The backlight for the screen was still functional at this point. Well one night as I was tinkering with the laptop, my idiot self forgot to disconnect the battery from the motherboard. I attempted to reconnect the EDP cable onto the motherboard, and as you might guess, I saw a nice spark from the cable and the port. Don't worry, I'm still kicking myself...
