    Dell Latitude E6410 power issues

Hello all, E6410 works great plugged into adapter with battery out. Plug battery in while on shuts laptop off. Will not charge battery, new battery and new adapter. What could I look for internally to isolate the problem?

    Thanks in advance

Most likely looking for a short.

Check resistance on the + and - connectors for the battery on the laptop.

What is the brand of your motherboard. There are two motherboard for the E6410.

I would at first check for the charger chip which in this laptop is an PU10, ISL chip marked ISL88731. Try connecting power adapter to stripped motherboard and see if its warming up, if not connect the bat and check it again, se if the ceramic caps around that chip are shortened to ground.

hello again, here's the update. Please correct me if I;m wrong? But I don't think I'm supposed to have 19v at the laptop side of the battery connector? and if not what would be the issue? Some kind of voltage regulator etc? Thanks again for your help.

Battery 's got max 12.xx v because they got 11.7v in generak.
So in order to charge it needs to be over with 1 v max.

The fet that opens for that 12v its broken and it leaks the full 19v.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

Ill try and give as much info as I can.

                Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
                Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
                Bios: 1.9.0

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
                Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...

Dell Latitude E7450 Power issues and fault
                by popzeggey
I have a dell e7450 that shuts down abruptly when on and tries to restart. When the laptop attempts to restart, the hdd and wifi led is solid but power/battery led blinking hdd. Fault Description The memory modules are detected but encountered an error.

I have tried all basic troubleshooting steps like removing the battery and pressing power button for 30secs but issue persists. I have tried different fully working rams but issue persists. Any help would be much appreciated

Dell Latitude 5591 not power on
                by dlonely94
                Hi everyone!
I have a Dell Latitude 5591. It has a strange problem:

First, when the WLAN card is plug in, it will not power on when press power button, even all voltage is up (19v, 3v, 5v, 3valw, 5valw)

When I remove the WLAN card, it will start nomarlly. Then I power off and re-insert the WLAN card, it still work normally.

But, if I left it for 3 or 4 days without the battery and adapter plugged in, it will not power on, and I have to repeat the above sequence.

Sometime, when it not power on, I just unplugged the battery and adapter, wait...
