How to force notebook to wotk on extrenal display

    Hello.
Some notebook work on external when connected but some dont. today have toshiba U400 with LED lcd that not work on external without connected lcd. again have toshiba X500 that have broken 18" TB ccfl and dont want to buy that expensive lcd, so i want to have it as exchange for my pc to work only external display, but wont work only on external.

So i need to know if is solution to force notebook to work on external display?

If you can gain access to video cards settings, you can tell it to use external display only

you have to disconnect the cable from motherboard to disable the inverter because if the inverter its connected its still seen like the screen its there to provide output.

Take connector out so the whole line will be out inverter and screen.
        that`s a nice Qosmio
Just cook it! It's already broken.

i can take any board and test with VGA it needs to work because if it does not detect the internal one goes to VGA (or HDMI)
i got like 3 A300 bottom base with working mobo and 2 l300 that i tested them with VGA so why does it not work with a newer version like u400

yesterday i repaired Toshiba U400 with led lcd. it not work on external, but when i connected internal, it work without problem, even on external. So without connected internal it cannot goes on external.

That should be EC (and its program), that decides under what conditions picture is displayed on external screen, so you can not have one method on any notebook to force it.
To see if laptop posts the easiest way is to attach usb keyboard and see if num lock reacts.

right, caps lock should react too.

a couple days ago my case on hp 430, its doesn't react if i connect to external monitor. so i decide that caps lock and num lock react it will be post and boot normally. don't forget to look dc bench supply. its wierd mobo first for me
